Official Thread of the St. Louis Cardinals

Sitting in my seat yesterday and watching the dedication to Stan the man by the Cardinal Organization goes down as one of the greatest sporting events I've ever witnessed. What a player and what a person. RIP to one of the all time greats.

Greatest Cardinal of all time.

We're ok with the set up men. Boggs is no closer. I'd like to see Rosenthal close until Motte returns. I have no faith in Boggs and I never have.

When Boggs is off it is ugly. TR is struggling himself but he definitely fits the role better than Boggs.

Haven't heard anything new on Motte since April 10th.

According to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com, Motte has a confirmed ligament tear, and if he does not improve, he'll undergo Tommy John surgery. Cardinals GM John Mozeliak explained the rationale of setting a deadline to see if Motte is able to return to throwing by early May. "Rather than drag this thing out all summer, we put a soft deadline on it to find out," Mozeliak said.

St. Louis Cardinals' Jason Motte could be headed for Tommy John surgery - ESPN

Need to see a lot of improvement before I'd feel good about Rosenthal or Boggs.

I can't disagree on that. But I'd rather see Rosenthal than Boggs. We know Boggs can't handle the job. So let's see if TR can. If he can't then we need to look for another answer. If we don't we'll see more games like yesterday.
