Official: UT hires Kim Caldwell as the new coach for Lady Vols basketball

The shine the Lady Vols had has been rubbed off by Holly then Kellie. I hate it probably more than anyone does. A big name coach that is winning where they are was not coming. I didn't want another retread hire. Danny White knows what he is doing. Either get behind Ms Caldwell or go away. Negative comments not needed now. Recruits read these sites!!

The “shine” wore off bc of negative pressure by fans and high expectations from an AD. I said many times here safety and security from the big coaches would be our OUT for them. Why leave OSU, USC, Maryland if u are winning and the don’t expect u to win a title every 5 years..

Most have NEVER won a title or been to a FF.

I’m so interested to see how this plays out! Wild new era for the LVs!

A lot of people admitted they were wrong when Kellie was let go instead of retained. I was wrong saying DW would definitely hit a homerun. Rather worried about this hire, and not at all blown away like I expected. Hope I'm wrong again and CKC is great.

Not in my case. I was ok as long as the reach was upward from Kellie.. We deserved someone who could continue the build from where it was not start from scratch. Why did we go backwards?

Kim Caldwell is a coach that knows how to win and she can either come here to UT and help the Lady Vols win or she will have gotten scooped up by another school in the very near future and would be winning games elsewhere. I have no doubts she will get the Lady Vols back to their winning ways and back to the Summitt of WCBB!

This woman has been a HC for 8 years and has won close to 90% (.875) of those games. I think I will consider this a good hire until my eyes tell me it wasn't. All of y'all about to jump off the ledge look absolutely ridiculous IMO.

i think so yes. lord, during the last season under HW the program was in shambles. the locker room was so toxic, the player hated each other. you had players throwing holly under the bus. it was so hard to watch. you could see the animosity from the team by just watching them. 100% kellie left it better than she received it. it was kellie’s time to go, but her players loved her and she created a very loving culture.
