Same here. I'm guessing I made that list from some other thread or conversation, but my stance on Dooley then was hardly "negavol". I've said since the end of last year, the jury was out on Dooley and he had this year in particular to prove he's the guy. I also said 8-4 this season and that would probably save his job.

For the record, I have supported Dooley until this past Saturday. The 4th quarter field goal on 4th & goal down 30 something points finally did me in. I hung in there one more game than the Count I guess.

Given this full disclosure, I'm curious if Ron would "give credit" to Dooley if, by some freak of nature, Dooley beat USC this Saturday and then went on to finish 8-4. Ron?


PS: And, yes, I know it's not going to happen.....just curious.

Of course I would. I've admitted I was wrong on VN in the past. But I won't have to this week.

Somebody needs to be that guy... it shouldn't be me, but it's not fair that Beef is the only one frustrated with all the bashing of those of us who knew CDD was wrong from the onset.

Accountability has been grossly missing on VN wrt poster credibility throughout the Dooley era.

Geez... I thought that my sticking with Fulmer through UCLA was slow, at one time, in retrospect. But, after CDD, I may have right to have stuck with him longer as he certainly a better coach than CDD.

These guys pimped a loser from LA Tech who came to UT and just kept losing, blaming players for the losses, and continuously making excuses for why we couldn't win. At the same time, they called out fans who knew the truth about CDD all along as not being 'real fans.'

All those stupid arguments about hurting recruiting by not supporting the team (that required assuming everyone was as blind about football as they were... and a lot of recruits and their coaches simply are NOT)!

It got quite pathetic here at times.

I'm all for circling the wagons and moving forward. But, to give these guys who pimped Dooley this long any credibility wrt actually critiquing the team's performance or the next coach would be totally ludicrous.

If he loses another game then an interim should finish the season. So it was also "not realistic" to think that this team was going to win 9+ games, too, right? Cause so many people were absolutely positive and were going to bet their first born that that was going to happen. Though those of us that saw a team that has not even been competitive against UGA, UF, and UA in 2 years and lost to UK for the first time in many of our lives, are called unrealistic. But those who were overly optimistic with no real reason to be are realistic. Right....

I don't think that all, or even most, of the "bashing" was because y'all quote -knew CDD was wrong from the onset- unquote.

It was the endless nastiness that came along with this soberly reasoned opinion. All the "you stupid morons, how could you possibly believe that..." blah blah blah. Unlike many of you, there are a lot of posters here that just love some football, and try to keep excitement going, and it gets really old putting up with the :horse::horse::horse::horse::horse::horse::horse::horse::horse::horse::horse: of the negavols.

There's a reason that so many of the anti-Dool folks got labeled "negavol", and it wasn't because they didn't like Dooley. It was because it got awfully old having the truckloads of vitriol dumped all over VN.

I don't mind a bit having people post opposite opinions. It's the nastiness that got so eff'ing old.

Yeah...that is true. I really wanted Derek to succeed. He is near perfect in every way except for the Wins/Loses column. Unfortunately, that is the one that matters most.

Don't make me laugh. The DD defenders were very harsh and jumped anyone that was critical of Dooley in a very fierce manner.
