Official VN "Eat Crow" Thread

I'm with you, Volcula. I have wanted to hope against hope and believe the best. Even now, I'm not sure which to believe for the future. I just hate how things are turning out.

All of us wanted Dooley to succeed because that meant UT would be successful. But the "Count" was brutal on any of us who called Dooley what he was, a coach in over his head. Many of us saw hiring him was a mistake and that we should have named an interim coach and were attacked by the "Count" and his fellow buddies. We were accused by the "Count" and his ilk of hating UT, the team and not even being a UT fan at all. So I hope you're nothing like him or Orange blazer, wiseoldvol etc. As they've been delusional jerks to those of us who simply wanted to hold the coach accountable. They've blamed everyone except Dooley. They've blamed the players, fans, the asst coaches and posters on this site. So I hope you're not "with him".

I don't know the history and am not trying to stir anything. I'm just hurting right now. I could not stand CLK, and supported CDD right off the bat because he was the "anti-Kiffin." I want to see him succeed because I want to see us succeed. Now neither seems to be happening. And with many others, I am very, very sad.

I totally agree. Saturday after the game I sat in the stadium and was one of the last to leave. It was as low as I can ever remember feeling after a game. What the "count" and his ilk do is take anything realistically talked about on this site and call those of us "negavols". They don't have facts just excuses. They defended Dooley over the team and everything else. No matter what they made excuses for him and attacked all of us who wished to hold the coach accountable.

IF Dooley loses 1-3 more games resulting in him being fired then it was STILL the right thing to do to withhold judgment until he got a chance to prove himself with a competitive roster.

If he could somehow win out and were kept, I would be divided on that decision. But it would have been the height of stupidity to have hired ANYONE to coach a program in the condition UT was in then fire them after year 2.

No, stupidity was hiring him in the 1st place. Hamilton was one of if not the the worst things that's ever happened to the UT AD. Anyone with the sense God gave a blade of grass knew with that short of time we should have named an interim for the year and used that time for a true coaching search. Many of us said so at the time and were blasted for it.

It is NOT "realistic" to base an opinion on what you "think" will happen in the future. Dooley has now had a shot with a roster that should have been competitive. Ultimately, the results are his even though play of Bray and Hunter (likely the two best players on the team) has hurt.

If he loses another game then an interim should finish the season. Hart should name a replacement in time for them to call every commit and significant target before the December recruiting quiet period. The new HC should be able to have his staff in place by the time recruiting opens back up in January.

It isn't just what we thought. We looked at his resume and the timing of the hire. It was an idiotic thing to do.

Its 50/50 either way

I chose wrong

Beef hounding on someone for backing a coach is laughable

He hung on Fulmers jock to the bitter end. He has no room to speak

He did as much "attacking" as anyone.

But it is what it is

I was wrong and this time he was right

It is called being in denial. Go look it up, it defines people like you to a Tee

Maybe or maybe not

If it was, then a lot were in denial

If you go back, most of us said there was no realistic chance of deciding if the man could coach until he had a chance to rebuild the roster

He has done that and its proven that he cant. Now its time to move on

Do you ever get tired of being wrong? Do your home work jr. I stated after 2005 that Fulmer earned his right to fix things with multiple SEC titles and a national title. But I stated numerous times that if he had another bad year he should be gone. You see "count" I believe in holding coaches accountable and soon as he had another bad year I was totally on board. Now you on the other hand defended a guy who had as many losing seasons in 2 years as Fulmer did in 17. See I'm a realist and your delusional.
