Official Watch Party Thread (NCAAT seeding edition)

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think this weekend we’ll need to cheer for Penny to beat Houston. I like to see him suffer, but Houston in free fall would help our seeding ceiling.
They don’t need to free fall for us to pass them, that loss last is gonna sting them, drop another 1-2 and they’ll fall quite a bit.

Again to show how hard winning on road in conference play is…unranked Michigan beats Purdue by damn near 30 last night.

Tonight’s game:
UCONN vs. Xavier

They’re both on the 6 seed line behind us so sunrise is gaining ground while the other loses ground…you get more credit for road win so I’ll lean that we want the home team to win.
And they play again in Storrs next weekend. We’d prefer a split.

Purdue plummets to 9th in NET and 10th in KenPom. If Arizona, Kentucky, Villanova, and Auburn remain in the top 10 in those two rankings, we will have played 5 games against top 10 teams by season’s end. Good chance we would play Auburn and/or Kentucky in the SECT too. So potentially 6 or 7 games against top 10 teams in those rankings. That’s crazy.

Todays games:
Texas A&M vs. Auburn
Texas vs. Baylor
Oklahoma
vs. Kansas
Seton Hall vs. Villanova
Rutgers vs. Wisconsin
Memphis vs. Houston
Indiana vs. Michigan State
Florida vs. Kentucky
TCU vs. Texas Tech
Marquette vs. Butler
Duke vs. Boston College
Arizona vs. Washington
Ohio State vs. Michigan
DePaul
vs. Providence
Saint Mary’s vs. Gonzaga
UCLA vs. USC

Texas vs. Baylor is a tough one. On the one hand, a Baylor loss helps our seeding-ceiling and gives us a chance to increase to as high as a 2-seed potentially.

However, Texas has the head-to-head win against us and if they win and we end up fighting them on the seed line that makes it tough on us.

Yup…kinda the “how greedy” do you wanna be approach.

Probably better for sect seeding for bama to win but for ncaat I think better for Arkansas to win. Would make them a Q1 home game for us

I think they’re likely to end up Q1 by the time we play them regardless of today’s outcome so I hope Alabama wins.

I know for seeding we want A&M, but I feel like Auburn winning would actually be better. Keeps Kentucky out of the race, and gives us a very big game at home against Auburn.
