Official what games to pay attention to thread...

The Vols put themselves in this position with a horrible start to the season and an amazing finish. We should not expect anything from this team. Be happy we're not KY where any loss from now forward is a failure of a season.

This is true, but I wouldn't mind being where they are at the moment... Either way, this team has amazed me with the turnaround they have had.

Tennessee is still out according to lunardi. S Florida stays in the field, Miss State stays in the field and Washington too.

That is a joke!!

Here are the odds of each team reaching the benchmark set by Lunardi to be safe entering selection Sunday:

Cal (avoid bad loss)......................100%
West Va (avoid bad loss)...............100%
Uconn (avoid badd loss).................100%
Saint Louis (avoid bad loss)............74.27%
S Miss (avoid bad loss)..................72.90%
Miss St (1 win).............................61.39%
S Florida (beat ND)........................35.30%
Miami (2 wins)..............................35%
Arizona (make the finals)................34.96%
NC State (2 wins).........................34%
Washington (1 good win)................33.55%
Colorado St (2 wins)......................32.68%
Oregon (2 wins)............................27.19%
Tennessee (2 wins).......................26.39%
Xavier (2 wins).............................21.13%
Northwestern (2 wins)...................18.69%
St Joes (make the finals)...............15.96%
Texas (2 wins).............................15.71%
Dayton (make finals).....................12.07%
Seton Hall (2 wins)........................0.00%

This isn't necessarily a reflection of who will get in or not. But just for ****s and giggles, if we apply this to his s-curve, Tennessee would be the last one in. In reality, anyone below Miss State is going to be at the mercy of the bubble.

I'll have to update the odds, but there are some obvious ones.... S Miss becomes a lock. Miss St, S Florida, Washington, Oregon, Northwestern now have no shot at locking up a bid. They are at the mercy of the bubble

The new biggest skeptic is Jerry Palm. We're still not even in his first four out. Ole Miss is his first team out.

He's going crazy

I don't even think I'm being biased when I say this is completely baffling to me. It also baffles me how he and Lunardi still have Washington in.

Bubble teams with better resumes than Washington:

Tennessee
Mississippi State
South Florida
Seton Hall
Northwestern
St Joe's
Dayton
Oral Roberts
Iona
Oregon

The games in the OP are no-brainers. Here are some long shots to keep dibs on:

St. Joseph's vs. St Bonny - 2:30pm - If St Joseph's makes the A10 Final, they'll be right on the bubble.

Marshall vs. Southern Miss - 4:00pm - some contend that Marshall isn't close to getting a bid. But based on what Joe Lunardi has said in the past (TIFWIW) if they make the CUSA final, they would be on the bubble. Southern Miss is a lock.

Saint Louis vs. La Salle - 6:30 - I personally can't imagine how St Louis doesn't get in, but (again, Lunardi) a loss to La Salle could put them on the bubble. It could actually be a pretty good game.

The win by Oregon State yesterday was pretty big. Of course it knocked Washington down on the bubble, but it also could have put the lights out on another potential bubble team. Before the conference tourneys Arizona was said to have need at P12 championship appearance to get on the bubble. Now, they will have to go the AQ route to get in.

St Joe's is first four out right now. If they make the A-10 final, I think they're in. Go Bonnies!

Agree on USM.

I'm actually pulling for Saint Louis here. Avoiding a bid-stealer is more important than knocking a solidly in team onto the bubble. Keep Temple and Saint Louis in that tournament until the final and I'll be happy.

I really think Lunardi might be way off his usual pace this year. Some very confusing teams on his list, starting with Drexel. So much still to be decided this weekend.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but the GA win took away one of our 100+ losses.
We now show 3. Most of the other bubble teams have 3 or more.
If they beat Vandy it sticks.

If I were confident that Temple would run the table, then I'd say so. Theoretically, the best case scenario would be for St Louis to get destroyed, Dayton squeak past Xavier, and then get beat by Bonny. Realistically, we want St Louis to win because they have the best shot of stomping Dayton (hopefully) in the next round.
