'25 OG USC transfer Emmanuel Pregnon (Oregon)

I’m gonna keep saying it until I get proven otherwise. I still believe We’ll start spending in top tier when we start closing the top tier players who are actually worth that much money. We don’t seem to have a problem closing top tier DLs with garner and QBs with heupel.
The reason for not closing the top tier players at the other positions may be due in part to us not spending enough up front. Which poses a different set of questions and problems. We've missed out on several of the top defensive lineman in the past classes as well. We're getting out-offered and out-spent. That's the bottom line. It's not a problem if CJH can maneuver around it. But at present it's a real issue.

it could also be that we have more holes to fill. OSU had a great roster before this season, so they were able to target a few top guys to go after, and spend all their money there.

we have far more holes than OSU does. so even if we have the same money overall, we are going to have to spread it out more.

Again, no ruling will ever be passed that limits an athletes earning potential. NIL deals cannot have a limit. It's all protected by the Sherman Antitrust Act.

The most you might see is that schools can't have official partnerships with collectives. But that doesn't prevent the collective from signing whatever athlete they want and paying them whatever amount they want.
Just hide and watch

Good enough to lead the SEC in rushing 3 years in a row?
We didn't lead the SEC in rushing in 22; but, we did lead the SEC in TOTAL offense, rushing for 200 yards per game among that. We've led the SEC in rushing these past two seasons; but, to support your point, we have been dominant running the football since the day Elarbee got into town. We have averaged 200 or more yards PER GAME, every single year.

Colorado kid that has never been east of Colorado for college (Wyoming & then USC) decides to stay West and go to Oregon? Who could've seen this coming?

Not everything is an NIL issue guys. OSU loss really kicked in people's BVS.
And, even if it is all about money, NO ONE is beating out Oregon if Lanning really wants someone. At the end of the day, Texas is the only other school in America that can compete with Phil Knight money. Not even Ohio St, UGA, no one else can defend against it.

I believe heard is playing out of position. He needs to move inside and play guard, he’s to slow at tackle. He’s not gonna give up the LT pay though
He was slow due to injury and being in piss poor shape after that. How we didn’t have someone to bandaid that position till he was ready to go is concerning. Campbell having to start at RT all year with a bum knee is also a big question mark. Out of shape Heard and injured Campbell starting most of our games is a head scratcher for me. We had no one better at those positions at any point?

Figures. Would you trust your future to Ellarbee? Didn't think so.
😂 yes let’s trust it instead to the guy coaching the line that gave up what was it 8 sacks and had -23 rushing yards vs Ohio State.

Money decided this, nothing else. Dude is a one year rental so no fault to him.

What’s Oregons OL coach done that’s so great? Has he developed a too 10 overall pick?
He's only been there 2 years (1 draft...2024). Had a Center go 2nd round last year, 44th overall. Josh Conerly and Ajani Cornelius will certainly be drafted, this year.

That’s fine and dandy.
Here’s what’s not:
Heupel is known for spread it out , big play offense, He’s not been able to have that for 2 years because the OL is terrible at pass blocking!!

Penalties: way too many self inflicted penalties.

Like Paul Harvey said.

The rest of the story.

Yes, pass protection hasnt been what it needs to be these last two seasons, and i say that knowing all the phases that go into pass protection (OL, RB, TE, QB); but, i say, lets try and work that out with the guy that coached the OLine in 21 and 22...unless those OLines were not up to your liking, as well? You know, OLines that paved the way for 2 of the greatest offenses you have ever seen?

Even in Elarbee's "down years", these last two you and your ilk are wanting his head for, we still rushed for more yards than anybody BOTH years...produced the SEC POTY, a RB at that. You know how hard it is to win that award as a RB? You have to go back to 2017 to see it happen again. Produced two ALL SEC Linemen, just this year.

I'm sorry. Baby/bathwater. I say we try and fix pass protection with the guy that has helped us to 30 wins in 3 seasons...and, a playoff, and one game away from another one.
