Ohio State looking past Vols

You guys have a good board and passionate fans. I appreciate that I was allowed in here to have some fun.
Deflecting because you can’t show anything to prove your point besides your opinion.

It’s our 6th playoff appearance. Any reasonable person would say it’s a bigger game for the team appearing for the first time.

I’m not sure. Maybe show some objective numbers to prove your point.

It’s certainly the biggest game on your end as you’ve never been to the playoffs.

Fans will show up. It’s the largest fan base in college football.

Tenn fans being excited and buying tickets more than other opponents and OSU fans being supportive are not mutually exclusive.

Well you’re a 10 win SEC team and Vegas has us winning by more than a touchdown. Your math doesn’t add up.
I see the fans being cocky but not the team.

I will never understand the need of some fans to go to an opponent's fanbase board and show their @$$.

I have not posted, and will never post on an opposing fans' board. I mean....why? Seriously?

I get it that uga fans seem to need constant affirmation that uga is like the bestest most funnest, most awesomest team ever in anything, but if you're not a fan of that trash program, why do it?

The mystery continues.........

Yeah because the home teams earned higher seeds by being better / ranked higher.

Vegas has OSU as a favorite on a neutral site too btw
Honestly think you shouldn’t have dropped further after being embarrassed by Michigan? You know damn good and well you should have. You guys got the “Alabama” reputation treatment there. Any other team would’ve fell 6ish spots.

Several years back I used to troll KY basketball fans. I had a username of Bobby Hurley and would give them hell. It was so easy to get them stirred up and pissed off….. and cheap entertainment

I get it. Not my jam, but I do get it.

Troll on, brother!

Well let me show you the numbers since I am not sure OSU fans can count:

OSU
Since 2010 - ATS - 104 - 86 - 4. 54.7%
Since 2003 - ATS - 156 - 121 - 4

Since 2010 ATS
Home - 57-46-1
Home favorite - 55-46-1
Bowl Games - 8-7
Against ranked opponents - 36-28-2

Seems your vegas obsession is misguided. And no, you don't play well as a favorite

Now do wins and losses as the favorite. As a favorite they almost always win the game. You’re changing the argument to against the spread. Half of these they’re favored by a million points

Do you not read well? I understand, I would imagine you were educated at OSU.

Can't really do that since the big10 is and has been weak as hell top to bottom. There usually is 2 good teams and the rest are average at best

Big10 record since 2010 - 1439- 1102
SEC record since 2010. - 1596 - 1044

SEC vs. Big 10 (SEC leads in both)
ALL GAMES: 111- 73 - 60.1%
BOWL GAMES: 69 - 37 - 65.1%

I said when they’re favored how often do they win? You’re posting ATS numbers. Maybe you’re having trouble reading.

Nice straw man argument. Someone made a joke that OSU is bad as a favorite. That’s objectively wrong.

Dude you play in a weak conference so most of the games you are favorited are against very weak opponents. I would expect you to have a good record against Rutgers, Purdue, Northwestern, Maryland, Indiana(I know they have a good record this year but they played 1 team and got beat), Iowa.

Compare that to the bottom part of the SEC. Vandy, Miss State, Kentucky, Auburn(maybe)
Play Oklahomas schedule this year and see how things go. Texas was given the weakest schedule in our conference.

Tennessee plays Georgia and Bama every year.

I was simply disputing the point that we don’t win when favored. Btw — you’ve lost like 20 straight games against top ten teams on the road. Something has to give.

Don't believe for a moment that these OSU players are looking past the Vols. That loss to Michigan stung badly and those players are eager for the chance to redeem themselves, especially against another storied program that just happens to come from the mighty SEC. I do think the Buckeyes enjoy a motivational advantage in defending their home turf, especially after some MI players attempted to plant their flag at midfield following their narrow win. I don't think there is another team sport where emotion can have as great an impact as in college football.

The Vols have an uphill, but not impossible, climb, and if this game were being played in Neyland, I would be more optimistic. Even though they prevailed in Nashville, I just saw so many of the same tendencies that have prevented them from reaching their full potential this year, and unless they mitigate those tendencies, their season will end late Sat. night in The Shoe. Regardless of the outcome, I want to congratulate this team on all that they have accomplished to this point and to thank them for giving all of us in VolNation yet another football "fall to remember!" Here's to hoping that Christmas comes early to Rocky Top!!

I believe the OSU fans not showing up is more of a statement how much they desire Ryan Day gone for Head Coach position that disrespecting Tennessee.
