Love Savannah. It’s fun town for adults.

If you go to Asheville there is a fun piano bar there. Wife and I went for our anniversary and had a blast.

If you’re looking for mountains I suggest Blowing Rock/Boone, but like some people said Charleston is great. I got engaged and married there, so it’s one of our favorite places.

I was going to say Savannah but if you are set on Asheville it is a great spot to go if you haven't been. Definitely do Biltmore if you never have. Pay extra for the rooftop tour, it's worth it. I'd argue against getting a massage at the Grove Park because even on their cheapest days the prices are ridiculous. Go support a local, well reviewed massage spot instead.

My wife and I had a nice massage at a spot in downtown Asheville last year, so that's not a bad recommendation. That being said, I've never experienced any spa that rivals the Grove Park. It's ridiculously expensive, but a memorable splurge.

Note: I'm not a spa snob. I do get regular massages from a therapist at Massage Envy that does a great job. It's just something I/we enjoy, and I don't mind spending some money on special occasions.

Way out of left field.... Greeneville, Sc, is supposed to be a lot of fun. My wife and I have thought about going there for a weekend getaway.

My buddy from Clemson used to always talk about how cool it was. Then I took him to Knoxville for a game last year and he said Knoxville is way bigger. I’ve never been to Greenville, but I trust his judgement.

Greenville isn't a bad spot. I don't know how well it'd be for an anniversary (its been a few years since I was there and I wasnt interested in that kinda thing while there )

In about a month.

We would like a town similar to Gatlinburg. Like touristy, with stuff to do, but still charming.

Most similar thing we’ve found is Helen, GA. But we want to go somewhere we’ve never been.

Someone help a fellow Vol out... in struggling with this one.

Edit: preferably no further than 6 hours or so from Knoxville

Helen is good in October, might I suggest Little Switzerland, NC. It's off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very nice.

Also the Greenbrier Resort in Sulphur Springs, WV is top notch as well.

Little Switzerland is pretty cool . Haven’t been there in a long time, but very nice.

Don't really find Gatlinburg or Helen really "charming". Both are like redneck Disney to me.

Try Ashville, NC or Greenville, SC. Go to some nice bars and restaurants. Maybe a museum. Expand your horizons.

You could go to Savannah for St. Patty's Day weekend. I don't know if your marriage would survive, but it's a good time. Think Irish Mardi Gras.
