OK, one last time before the season starts, how many games do you expect us to win?

How many games do you expect us to win in 2013 (excludes bowl)?

I think we win at least 8. I say we win 9 if Georgia starts out 1-3 like I think they will. If Georgia loses to clemson, sc, lsu the wheels will fall off for them. We spank them and they fire richt before the season is out.

This would be a great result! Recruits from ATL would be headed to TN!

7 how I see it

4 - All of South Alabama, Austin Peay, Western KY, Kentucky
2 - Out of Auburn, Mizzou and Vandy
1 - Out of UGA, UF, and SC
0 - Oregon and Alabubba

I really think butch will pull a signature win over one of the 3 top east teams. But, because it's college football I think we lose a game we probably shouldn't in the AU, Mizz, and Candy group. Don't let it be friggin Candy!

Its good to see that VN is all pretty much right there in the 6-8 range. It sucks we all see it there, but atleast our expectations are in the right spot. It's time to start enjoying Tennessee football again!!! Prove us all wrong Butch!

Nice breakdown, but I have a hard time seeing the 1 vs. UGA, FL and SC, so I went with 6. I hope I am wrong.

Volbrainiac. You are the only one to vote only 4 wins.

Why do you think that this team will only win 4 games? please explain?

How can people have watched UT for the last 5 years and still believe this team will win more than 8 games??

Look I love the Vols and am glad to see optimism but you have to know you're setting yourself up for let down...

Last year we had an offense that would have won us a sec championship in 08. We had half of a very good team last year...but dont let last years defensive performance let you think our talent was that bad. In talent we had a top 40 defense at worst.

There's alittle room here for some optimism.

7 wins is VERY possible and if we beat a rival in a shocking upset like either UGA or FL we will win 8. Bama is out of the question..hope that's a close game but I don't want another beatdown again this season....

Is this within the realm of possibility that UGA could lose 3 of their first 4? They were 5 YARDS from going to the NC last season!! Why you talking like they will start out so bad? As good as that team is, I still see them winning 10-11 again this season...

8-5 Butched
4-8 Kiffined (we'd be on probation)
2-10 Dooleyed
7-6 Zombie Fulmered
5-hiccup Zombie Majors'd
14-0 Neyland's Ghost (and unscored upon)

I can't decide between 7 or 8. USC looked vulnerable against an up tempo offense. That may have just been poor conditioning but IDK. Honestly I'll be happy with 6, a bowl game, and seeing more of Sara Mitchell.

See TN 2005. Coming off a loss in the SEC chapionship game in 2004. Ranked in the top five preseason and some pick the TN team to win it all. After some tough early losses, the Team quits as it realizes it can no longer win an SEC or national title.

2013 UGA could play out along the same script. (at least I hope it does!).

Reality starting to worry me. Scared this team could end up with 5 wins. Better head coach for sure, but less talent on offense. It is a brutal stretch thru mid October. Hoping for the best.

Seven or Eight Wins is what I'm banking on. It will be a "Trial by Fire" type of season. Toughest schedule, new Coach, new system, plenty of Freshman. To the wolves we go. Go vols!

I've sat back and watched people on here hash it out on what they consider is a good season win wise, with that said if we win six games during the season and play good in the bowl game I'm going be smiling all the way. I'm only going to be upset if Vandy and Auburn beat the cramp out of us. I'm not sure we win both games but I don't want to see us getting creamed by either of those teams. Butch Jones has never had a winning season in his first year at a school so to expect anything more then winning six games is going against all odds.

his first year at Central Michigan they went 8-6 and won the west of the conference..

you should post facts instead of what you think is true...just sayin

How can anyone predict over 5 wins, after watching for the last 5 years?

I voted more than eight. I am not saying the Vols WILL win that many, but I expect them to. I think there are several players on this years team that have underachieved, thank to Dooley and Company. I am hoping that Butch Jones and his staff will have these players realizing their true potential. After watching the North Carolina vs South Carolina game, I feel Steve Spurrier may have a team that isn't as well conditioned as I hope the Vols are. I saw too many guys gasping for air very early. I also feel that even though some sports commentators are feeling respect for Vanderbilt, I feel the Vols home field advantage this year along with Vandy being Vandy, that if we avoid the injury bug, we can take those punks.

What I truly hope for, win or lose, is for the Vols to play their guts out on every play from the opening kick-off to the final horn. I think Butch Jones is going to demand that of them. I think this team is hungry, and taking ownership of their program. I have faith in this coaching staff to give this team the leadership to win and win quickly. And if they don't win, I expect them to keep the team competitive. I want every team faced this season, from the best to the worst, to walk to the dressing room thankful the game is over. I want the Vols to recover their due respect.

so over 65 percent EXPECT over 6

Orange Koolaid is flowing

Just give me six and a giant step has been taken

Although your math does add up, a more accurate interpretation of the data would be that 71% expect either six or seven wins, which, to me, are the most probable scenarios ultimately.
