It's going to be extremely hard to reach a bowl game this year. It would require winning games against Missou on the road and we couldn't beat Missou last year with Bray, Hunter, Patterson, Rivera and Rodgers at home. The same is true about beating Vandy and Auburn, I'm still worried about beating an improving Kentucky team on the road. Anything is possible, but we will have to improve tremendously if we are to have any chance what so ever at going bowling.
I don't see Missouri being a "winnable" game anymore then Auburn or Vandy. I'll just point out one thing for Missouri--they were doing pretty well prior to changing conferences. The one reason they sucked last year was because their QB and RB (both good players) were banged up. Tennessee, where this program is now we can't take any team for granted except the Austin Peay/South Alabama type opponents.

Vandy - should Win
that leaves either AU or Mizzou as the logical choices. AU scares me because of how we have defended mobile quarterbacks in the past. Mizzou scares me because I don't know much about them but they came back and beat us last year...hopefully we can finish it this year.
Call me crazy, but I think we can hang with UGA this year....not saying we should win, but here's why. Their style is to run it right at you, which plays right into the strength of our D. They don't run the QB (although Murray can run) much, and pretty much just turn around and hand it to the back. Also Richt's reluctance to give it to Gurley 30+ times a game helps.
They were mid-pack in a top heavy conference. Their high water mark passed when Chase Daniel was done. They LACK TALENT. People here complain about UT's roster... it is significantly better and deeper with SEC caliber players than Mizzou's is. They are several years away and that is only if they start recruiting better.I don't see Missouri being a "winnable" game anymore then Auburn or Vandy. No. That was a factor that made them worse... but they only play two positions. Their bigger issues are everywhere else. The one reason they sucked last year was because their QB and RB (both good players) were banged up.
That's true. But UT has more talent than Mizzou and it isn't all that close... even after the losses of Bray, Hunter, and CP.Tennessee, where this program is now we can't take any team for granted except the Austin Peay/South Alabama type opponents.
I think 7 is a very good possibility and well within the ability of the roster and coaching staff. AND I think it is very important to get that slightly better bowl bid. A bowl game around or after NYD may let some EE recruits participate in bowl practices. That could be HUGE since some of them are likely to start next fall.
Probably true. The one thing that working our favor if we happen to get to 7-5 is we'll have a fan base dying to go somewhere and spend money since it's been so long.
I'm not sure 6-6 or 7-5 would likely get us a NYE or NYD bowl with the way the rest of the conference is stacking up so far
