OK so how do we get to bowl from here??

I personally think the season hinges on Mizzou.

I don't see us beating UGA, USC or Alabama (although we might have an outside shot at USC). Auburn strikes me as a team that is getting better each week, they are in a much better place roster-wise than we are, and they have a mobile quarterback. That game could be competitive, but it's not a sure fire win by any stretch.

Mizzou is a mystery. They don't have much SEC talent, but they seem to be playing well within their system to this point. If they stay healthy and continue to play well, they could pose some matchup issues for us. That game could go either way.

Vandy and UK are wins at this point in my book.

5-7 is my floor. 6-6 is my ceiling right now.

You really can't tell if we are gonna go to a bowl game right now or not.. I've seen improvement and we are only going to get better. Who's to say we can't beat south Carolina at home.. its a stretch but who knows. I believe. And Auburn? I think we have a good shot at them as well.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and be a huge sunshine pumper.

We finish with wins against:

South Alabama
Mizzou
Auburn
Vandy
Kentucky
Bowl Game

Yes, 8-5. Call me crazy. We can beat Vandy & KY. Auburn & Mizzou are toss-ups.

I opt for positive thinking. The team didn't quit against UF and Worley finally started to get it together.

We just played the best Offensive team and then the best Defensive team in the nation in back-to-back weeks. We'll be okay, guys.

Watched Auburn vs LSU and not sure how we match up....our advantage will be at home game...circled the USC game because of the bye week and prep time. Plus a week of healing from potential injuries.

Think that Vandy and MO will be so banged up by the time we play them it will be a factor...plus I think Franklin's wheels are slowly falling off...

Did anyone expect The Vols to beat the gators? Really? Naturally there is hope on games like this but florida has a very very good defense. Again, I expect Tennessee to wind uo with 7 wins.....South Alabama, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Kentucky. Time will tell. Go Vols

Why does everyone assume we win against Missouri?

I think assuming any win right now is a mistake. However, the reason it could happen is our D. With the exception of Oregon, so far our secondary has done a pretty good job at coverage and anticipation.IMO And from what I hear Mizzu has one of the worst Defenses we will see this year.

Confidence and production from our offense should(and I think will) improve as the season goes on.

Sunshine Pumper Out!

I am going to take this approach and look at tn opponent the week before and our Opponents schedule the wk before.

TN vs SA @ TN. - W
vs GA GA vs LSU @ TN. - L
OPEN
vs USC USC @ Ark @ TN - L/T
vs AL AL vs Ark @ AL. - L
vs MO MO vs GA. @ MO. - W*
vs AU AU @ Ark. @ TN. - L/T
vs VU VU vs Ky @ TN. - W
vs KY KY @ GA. @ KY - W

* Mizzou schedule prior to TN is Brutal--Vandy, GA, FL, USC with no break

** Vandy schedule @TX A&M, OPEN, @ FL, KY

Our open week before USC could help

We stay healthy we should be in a bowl....Worley is a key and now Freshman will have to possibility step up with Peterman out...

The SEC is physically brutal...I think we improve every week....we are catching two winnable games at home AU and USC.

We should beat auburn at home and I still think we will win a game that we are not supposed to. Maybe ga. or s. carolina!

SA
AU
MO
VU
KY

These are all winnable games.

SA and KY should be wins
AU, MO and VU are tossups with slight edge to Vols.

I have said it before summer practice started. If this team can get 6-6. Butch Jones and company deserve a raise.
South Ala-W
UGA-L
SC-L
Bama-L
Missouri-W-L I want to say we win but I have a feeling we don't.
Barn-L
Vandy-W
Kentucky-W

5-7 guys, the only chance we have at 6-6 is if we can beat Missouri but I don't see it happening.

I just don't see us beating an SEC team other than maybe Kentucky. South Alabama will not be an easy out. 4-8. Anyone who expects better is being unfair to the staff.

I see a loss in every SEC game except Kentucky. No way we beat USCe. No bowl this year 4-6, 5-7 at best guys! This weeks game is gonna be a tough one.

Very, very little chance we beat Auburn. Mizzou is gonna be very difficult. Vandy will be us right now. We can maybe get Kentucky but Im not confident. I can't see anymore than 2 more wins. 4-8 unfortunately.

It's not about fairness to staff, it's more about confidence in them. Hope is not fact....it is wishful thinking...I will never write this team off nor have I ever done so...we saw quitting in dooleys years his second and third years...he lost the team....I don't see this happening at all with butch jones ever. Yes I think we win 3 or 4 games in the Sec this year in spite of our schedule...

We are seeing improvement every week ....and for once we are learning from them...

What kills me is that Dooley would throw stats out every week at the team and players...we had x number of big plays beat us....his answer to fixing issues was stats not coaching... If woulda coulda were his answers not coaching, Butch jones is eliminating issues one game at a time through coaching and not on paper. Dooley answer to us was to stat us to death on paper.

Dooley knew it was pouring down rain and why it was raining and how much it was raining, but did not have the coaching sense to get out of it or to open an umbrella...

Jones gets it and the players are getting it to by changing the bad habits instilled by the previous Coaches...

We are due...foundation being laid....winning attitude coming back....just takes time...but I think they turn the corner this year.

Our schedule is brutal, but it makes us better in the long run.

Every game we play is going to be tough....MO is a game I believe we win....their schedule and our schedule....

The problem is that everyone we play already has their foundation laid, save for Kentucky. We've got to catch up. It's not impossible that we play scrappy ball, keep it close and steal one at the end. That's why we watch the games. I just don't want to see a big meltdown in November when we're most likely going to be eliminated from bowl contention. Expectations have to be tempered if CBJ is going to get the 4-5 years he needs here.

4-8 might end up being accurate, but its lunacy to suggest that it's somehow unfair to expect a competent staff to manage a victory over Vanderbilt, Auburn, or Misouri.

Beat Mizzou but lose to Auburn?

If there's going to be one loss between those games, it will be against Missouri

We lose to both. Auburn has SIGNIFICANTLY more talent.... seriously doubt we can play with them. The ONLY win I see, and I'm not confident about this, is Kentucky. If we don't get MUCH better, we'll lose all four, including Vandy.

Do You Really Consider This Staff Competent?

Seriously? ?
