SA
AU
MO
VU
KY

These are all winnable games.

SA and KY should be wins
AU, MO and VU are tossups with slight edge to Vols.

USC is winnable. It will take a good game... but it is winnable and USC does NOT have to give UT the game.

What a very depressing thread. Could you people be any more negative? Gheez
I'm sure glad our coach doesn't have the same attitude as a lot of our "fans" seem to have, and hopefully none of our players do either, otherwise we won't win anymore games.

Only ignorance buoys the myth that Mizzou currently has more talent than UT. They are several years away from not competing with UK for the weakest roster in the SEC and that's assuming their recruiting improves significantly.

I Like Most Of The Things You Say.

But This Is A Pipe Dream.

ANY Good Team Would Have To Do More Than Give UT The Game.. Florida Tried And Still Pounded UT.

SC Will Beat UT By Double Digits. Maybe Even Three Scores..

I doubt that for several reasons.

One, UT should have taken that game from UF. What ifs are generally endless arguments but I do believe that Worley does not make the first mistake Peterman did. At least a field goal there... that changes the course of the game for better or worse. However, UF seemed intent on giving the game away. I respect the decision to try Peterman but it may very well have cost UT the game.

USCe has a great DL. They do not have particularly great playmakers at WR. Their back 7 is a huge opportunity for everyone who plays them... and for all the complaints about experienced, talented depth for UT... they're as bad or worse.

Love Butch and the staff... love the players' effort this week vs Florida... just commenting on our absolutely depleted roster that has only more SEC talent than Vandy, Missouri and Kentucky.... and not by a wide margin.

UT would've lost to Florida if Joe Montana was our QB. We know we'd have lost with Peyton so there's that.

If we are more talented than those guys it ain't by much. Negligible.

Vandy is probably closer than Mizzou. Mizzou has better coaching but recruiting for them continues to be really tough.

The difference between Mizzou and UT is definitely more than you think but they do have a decent scheme on O. Few if any of their defensive players are SEC quality and their back ups are worse.

A few things need to happen. CBJ needs to hold this team together through the October run. If the team emerges from that run of games positive and still believeing in Butch's system we have a chance. But someone has to step up and take command of the offense. We've got to find a quarterback. If we can do that I think we can take 3 out of 4 in November. If not we're in trouble.

Anyone who thinks Vandy isn't a winnable game didn't watch them struggle against a terrible UMASS team on Saturday.

South Alabama should be an easy win.

Vandy and Kentucky are very winnable games.

Mizzou and Auburn are toss-ups.

USC would take a great game to win, but a long-shot.

Not much of a chance against UGA and 'Bama.

This season isn't over yet, and there is plenty of time for improvement.

We beat Mizzou, possibly catch USC sleeping and play a good game at home vs AU

We can still win most of our remaining games. Obviously no one will be shocked if we beat all of SoAl, Mizzou, Auburn, Vandy and Kentucky. Pleasantly surprised but not shocked.

We can also beat Georgia. Here's why.

Georgia plays LSU the week before us. Teams have a history of coming out flat after facing LSU. Butch Jones' first SEC game in Neyland. Mark Richt coaching the other team and our defensive coaches knowing his MO to say the least. Bulldogs have been sort schizophrenic as long as I can remember. Every year they have inexplicable losses. Maybe it is our turn to inflict one again.

We can also beat South Carolina. Here's why.

We get a week off to prepare and they have to travel to play ground and pound at Arkansas. Their coaching staff is not on the same page defensively--remember the near fight on the sidelines vs Georgia. Are those problems gone? Or just stewing? This would be an upset, but not a big shock if we won at home. We match up pretty well against their strengths.

We can beat Alabama. Here's why.

Bama's offensive line was exposed against Colorado State. These guys can't run block. Outside of one 38 yarder, they rushed for 18 yards on 20 carries. That's right .9 yards per carry against Colorado State. We have the wherewithal to hold them to a very low score. When you do that, anything can happen.

I'd say we may even win against one of the big 3 teams and lose against one of the last 4, but I think we win a bowl game and get to 8-5. On the road to Eugene, then on the road to Gainesville is brutal. We are exactly where I thought we'd be.

Don't see any chance at bama, but I do think you may be on to something thinking we may pull off an upset in October, then drop one of the "easier" games to either Mizzu or Aub later in the year.

Get to 6-6! anything extra is a bonus at this point.

HELL no!!! We will NOT beat Mizz and vandy will likely beat us again. Right now only wins the rest of the year are possibly S Alabama and KY. 4-8 is our finish this yr. No bowl. Next yr we will be lucky to go bowling with a 6-6 record IF we get a decent QB!!

Wow, the irony of your post versus your screen name.

Disagree.... but this is why "what if" arguments are completely futile.

We've lost 9 years in a row, only won twice in Gainesville since 1971 iirc. Peyton, the best quarterback in our school's history never beat them when we had championship teams and talent around him. I was half joking about Montana... but I think I'm right
