Ok State and Iowa State

I think alot of people don't want a Bama LSU rematch due to the lack of offensive excitement.

Actually:

1. No one likes Alabama. NO ONE.
2. They aren't going to win the SEC. They're not even going to win their own division.
3. They've already lost to LSU. At home.

The only way that can really happen is if ESPN goes out of it's way lobbying to the human polls -like it did in 2007 (UGA) - that a team who didn't win their conference shouldn't play in the NC game.

...I just don't seem them doing that with Alabama this year (they like them too much, whatever you want to say the reason is)

Considering the tv contracts that ESPN has, they will not say a bad word about it and they will probably encourage it as a whole. Maybe a few will criticize it...

Re match is a given. who else is more deserving. barring LSU wins the SECCG.

If Oregon wins tomorrow night vs USC, I think you'll see a lot of voters bump them up over Alabama. They'll be considered the more attractive rematch.

I mostly think it's Oklahoma's to lose now though.

Oklahoma should not even be considered after that horrid loss to Texas Tech.

Maybe i'm really feeling cynical but not to be insensitive at the same time, but why do i have the feeling that the talking heads will play the team being distracted by tragic the plane crash angle as an reason for the loss?

It's a "pick your poison" type of thing. Do you want Alabama, who isn't going to win their own division and who already lost to LSU at home? Do you want Oregon, who LSU laid the smack down on earlier this year? Do you want Oklahoma, who lost to an absolutely awful Texas Tech team at home? Arkansas? Alabama beat them by 24. Clemson? LOL. Stanford? Oregon beat them by 23. And so on...

Is it sad that Houston looks like the team I have the least problem with at this point? They've played a miserable schedule, but they haven't lost as a 30 point favorite yet.

Expect there to be a lot of talk about that missed field goal too, could very well have been called good.

Same thing happened with Boise last year. Wouldn't be surprised if the buzz for the lasers on the goalposts picks back up because I remember that being a big talking point after the game last November.

Polls won't bump them down without lobbying from ESPN; still won't help the computer aspect though

Unfortunately Ok st at #2 was the game OU needed to have the realistic shot...their dropping below OU won't help.

Voters aren't going to want a rematch. Voters especially aren't going to want to have to pick between an Oregon and Alabama rematch. You saw what happened in 2006; they'll vote up whoever they need to in an effort to prevent it. Picking Oklahoma with one bad loss will be easier than picking either and between Oregon or Alabama.
