Okay, does anybody actually think we beat Oklahoma (poll within)?

Do you believe the Vols will beat Oklahoma this Saturday?

Coach Bajak. and CBJ will open up the playbook vs. OU this Sat. Worley, our coaching/gameplan, and our team effort/determination will keep us in the game and give us a chance to win it in the 4th quarter IMHO.

I have been waiting for someone to open up the playbook against a quality opponent early in the season for about 10 years now.

Worley throws to Marquez North who makes an acrobatic catch in the endzone with less than 2 minutes left for Tennessee to beat Oklahoma 28-27 and get revenge for the 1968 Orange Bowl.

I think the pressure is definitely on them. If we come out with some great defensive play and take the crowd out of it early, we have a chance to keep it respectable. Our defense is much better than what they have seen so far this year. yeah, They will make some plays, but our offense will too. I don't think it will be a blow out. Last years SC East team was a top 10 team too. Butch will have them fired up. I think they will be caught off guard with this team we field.. flame away

It's laughable that Oregon vol calls Saturdays game "close", but considers our game against Florida last season to be a "blow out".

Hmmm…I don't recall referring to the Florida game last season as a "blow out"…do you have a link or did you just make that up?

I do consider it a pretty decisive victory though. I forget, were we 17 point underdogs in that one, like Ark State was last week?

But, we both know it doesn't matter. As usual, you're just trying to obscure the actual issue with willful incomprehension. Surely you don't need me to explain to you the difference between calling something "close" and saying "as close as", right? I mean, you understand grammar. You know that "close" is a subjective quality something may or may not possess, whereas "as close as" seeks to compare two things, right?

For instance, we may or may not consider Chattanooga a "big" city. Compared to Chicago, it certainly is not "big". But we can say, that Chattanooga is "as big as" say, Clarksville. You know all of this, right? If not, you are welcome for the lesson.

Now, draw your own conclusions but don't question the fandom of rational folks who aren't exactly confident about the Vols' chances this week.

Fandom is so much more fun when you have no problem being completely irrational.

Karl Kremser's kick was good at the end of the game, too!!!

If we can muster some big, strong D, I think we have a solid chance of sticking one in the V column.

It's possible but it's unlikely. Remember, we're in a rebuilding process. We have a lot of young talent that lack experience and Oklahoma has a lot of talent with more experience. With that being said, if Worley can have a good game and the defense shows up, we have a good chance of winning. We're going to be major underdogs in this game but so was Virginia Tech against Ohio St. and looked how that turned out? It's college football, anything can happen.

Pre Pearson injury we had a chance.

now we just need to lose by less than 17 and make it close during the beginning. if we can do that things and media stay positive.

Anything can happen on any given Saturday but I wouldn't bet money on this one going our way. Our time will come though.

OK QB was simply Mr. Good Enough Backup until he played lights out against Bama. Rattle him early and we have a serious opportunity to force them into one dimensional play.

Any given Saturday, eh?

Go You Volunteers!
Smokey Rules.

Good point, I think if we can get some big stops early and force a few punts, we can make it interesting.

wow.....nice,thought I was the only one old enough to remember Karl with a K Kremser

haha I thought I posted that....anyway, Kremser's kick was good, no doubt about it. The refs screwed us, they had already decided if it was close they were going to wave it off. They ran for their lives after making the call.

We can't beat ourselves plus we need them to help out by beating themselves.

Wow another thread by one of the most negative and condescending fake Vol fans on this board. Congrats OP. So now if UT loses you can boast and make fun of us fans who believe in our team.

If you strictly put Oklahoma's stats against Tennessee's in this game both teams having played two games, the opponents both teams faced, and that this game is played in Norman, Oklahoma wins this game by double digits. But as everyone knows is not played on paper or a computer and there are intangibles that come into play like Bob Stoops calling out the SEC as overrated. He can't just beat Tennessee he has to put on a beat down show to back up all the negative comments made about Alabama and the SEC. All the pressure is on Oklahoma to produce, no one expects Tennessee to go into Norman and be competitive let alone win. While I don't expect Tennessee to win for a number of reasons I do feel it will be closer than the experts think and I hope Tennessee shocks the world they have in the past. I'm thinkin Oklahoma 42 Tennessee 30

It goes against my grain to think that the Vols approach a game thinking they cannot win. I believe in the recent past that former That's all. And most of all, the Vols have to believe it is possible.

I repeat for the 1000th time, any player who doesn't think we can win needs to stay in the locker room.
