Oklahoma Suspends Two For Year

Do yourself a favor and re-think your position. Whether she deserves it or not, witch slapping a woman no matter what the reason most likely lands you in big trouble with the law.

Remember the crazy Bama fan at the OK bowl game last year. If there was ever a woman who earned the right to a witch slapping it was her. None of those guys hit her back.

How about walking away if she slaps at you or at worst trap her arms by her side to prevent her from slapping you?

Technically there is no law on the books that says hitting a woman vs hitting a man in the same situation is a crime in and of itself. If its a crime to hit the man in the situation, it's the same crime to hit a woman in the same situation. It just goes against the public morals, so he was charged essentially with offending the public decency/morals. It's a fitting punishment really. And I agree, he should have walked away. Since he didnt, he gets charged.

Will she face criminal charges? I thought I saw that the DA decided not to charge her with her crime.

Not as of now she wont. Which is kind of silly considering she violated probation (crime) when she decided to get wasted (another crime being she's 20), she was the first to blows (crime, usually that person gets the charge). All this was done on the same day she had a warrant issued for her arrest for failure to appear (crime) to address previous crimes of which she was accused. If she hadnt commited so dang many crimes just to be in a situation where she could get in a fight with a football player we wouldnt be talking about this! lol. Really shed be in a whole world of diahrea if it werent for him hitting her. He saved her from jail by busting up her face. :)

Situations like this are interesting to me because they force society to admit to its own BS. This situation in particular does a fantastic job of asking the question, "Is gender equality real?" It looks like society's answer is a resounding, "Of course not! WTF is the matter with you?"

Instead of getting into a debate about domestic abuse, law and punishment, lets focus on how much of an impact does this have on the game. I don't follow Oklahoma but I'm assuming they have pretty good depth at both RB and LB.

Was Joe Mixon projected to play a lot?
And who's Frank Shannon back up?

My guess this news has some repercussions for the Sooners season as they play better teams, especially at the LB position, but I don't know if it'll impact the outcome in the game we play with them. It certainly doesn't hurt us that highly talented individuals aren't going to be playing. But its still a tall order for us to beat them regardless of these guys not playing. I'm sure their depth is a lot better then ours and the drop off in talent isn't as significant as it would be for us losing our top LB.

So a RB in NCAA gets a domestic charge and is suspended an entire year. Ray Rice knocks out his girlfriend on camera and gets 2 games.

DGB gets kicked out of Missouri for weed, and is apparently eligible to play this year, meanwhile Josh Gordon gets 4 games for weed

Makes no sense.

Green-Beckham was kicked out of Missouri for forcing his way into a girl's house and pushing/shoving her down some stairs....

How many stairs?

I think it had to be less than 19, since that is the OK limit.
If it was more than that, they wouldn't let him play. They have VERY STRICT guidelines.

Poor guys, I wouldn't be surprised if they give them some type of break for good behavior.

Mixon was fighting to start, but would have been splitting carries with two other guys. I think the biggest thing was that he was ahead of the other guys in terms of receiving. But OU is real deep at rb so they wont miss him much.

Losing Shannon is a big deal, top tackler from last year. His backup was a freshman last year and looked pretty good, but behind him its slim pickins. Which is ironic considering the impressive depth at OLB but doesnt always translate to playing well at Shannon's position. OU fans are really apprehensive about linebacker stuff- when we had linebacker problems some years back OU would be constantly abused over the middle. Last year we lost our #1 for the season, and Shannon was out a couple games too and boy howdy was OU abused on the ground. So thats in flux.

If they get DGB the offense will be really damn hard to stop. That's the one the rest of the country doesnt want to see. Missouri didnt have the kind of offensive weapons OU has so I can only imagine how OU will use him.

I suppose the whole being arrested and held on 5 million dollar bond suggests they think its ok?
