Kind of make you feel warm all over to know that 10essee hasn't been the reason for BAMA to have to tone it down?

You know, as annoying as bamawriter can be, he at least pays his dues here by harassing BUBear for his blind Baylor homerism.
I'm baffled as to what value you bring to these boards, and why you've not been banned.
Ole Miss was handing out ridiculous amounts of money, yet UT still got Richmond
Glass houses, doofus.
Travis Haney, this is what it looks like when the culture is a disaster.
Paper trail?
Back to Ole Miss, the bowl ban is laughable. I would also fire Freeze and the athletic director to try and keep what's coming from the NCAA at a minimum.
I think they are going have to do this. The penalty for lack of head coach oversight is a one year suspension. Ole Miss cannot afford to let this hang over their heads, only to then lose Freeze for a year. I would be surprised if Freeze coaches this season, even if the NCAA hasn't ruled yet (which they almost certainly won't).
Just like with a myriad of other sports and businesses in general, for that matter, people have just decided to accept that it is, what it is.
The rest of us will hate it, Bama fans will pretend it's not real. At least until the leadership changes and they're not the ones benefiting.
As soon as it's another team with ties to the head office, they'll be the first ones crying foul.
You may be right. One year suspension is the minimum if that charge sticks.
Lately, the NCAA seems more keen on hitting coaches rather than the programs. Freeze may wind up bearing the brunt of these sanctions.
This conspiracy theory junk continuously ignores the fact that major scandal after major scandal has popped up and no one has gotten hit with anything significant since USC*. Bama doesn't enjoy any kind of advantage that isn't being shared by every other major program. What came to light at Miami may be the worst case of major violations ever, and what they received can't even be called a slap on the wrist.
*The obvious exception would be Penn State, but the NCAA should never have gotten involved there, and they wound up walking back all of the sanctions before they were even complete.
What a crock of ****. Bama had players getting cars suits and flaunting handfuls of cash and nothing. Ole Miss does the same thing and suddenly they're anathema.
Cost-of-Attendance Stipends easily cover monthly payments for a used Dodge Charger or Challenger ("official" vehicle of the Crimson Tide), even without a trade-in.
So, it's actually easy for any player at any big school to legitimately get a fairly nice ride once they're enrolled.
UT's COA Stipends are big; at one time so much more than Bama's, they increased theirs to match UT's.
Also, Alabama's Compliance Dept. documents the ownership, source(s) of funding, etc. for all student athletes' vehicles.
Just because a kid tweets a photo of himself standing by a $50k car doesn't mean it's his car. How about photos with handfuls of cash -- $100 bills or $1 bills? Kids do kid things, like posting those kinds of photos.
Or, you can believe "fake news" and "conspiracy theory" bullcrap based on such photos -- if that's what you want to believe.
Can you produce a photo like you just described?I don't mind it as much as some, at least on the conspiracy side. but what irks me on the photos is them posting those shots as recruits and saying "Great time at Tuscaloosa, they have great fan support." with them holding a couple thousand dollars. and the NCAA doesn't investigate that.
Can you produce a photo like you just described?
Maybe the NCAA does investigate those kinds of things.
Also, if the school's compliance dept. doesn't check it out and deal with it properly, they're not doing their job.
I agree on Miami. But Bama has not even been looked into for the recruiting trail provided.
At least they pretended interest in the other cases.
I've become okay with it over the years, it just is what it is. And if we (UT) could do it to that level, I'm sure we would.
No interest in going round and round with you, I honestly would think less of you, if you weren't defending your team.
