Ole Miss vs Tennessee

No. We beat Kentucky in Lexington, and we are their biggest rival. You can’t justify Ole Miss being their only SEC win and say they deserve to be inside the top 10 of anything.

Georgia is bad and it took the refs to give them a win at home. We would have beaten Georgia the same way we beat everyone else at home because the refs wouldn’t have made it out of Knoxville in one piece if they cheated that badly, surrounded by 100,000 Tennessee fans.

You’re a TN hater and that’s the only valid point you’ve made thus far, by omitting anything negative to the teams you’re comparing TN to.
KY game was in Knoxville. Blackout, black uniforms, etc.

We did not beat Kentucky in Lexington. Do you even watch the games?

I don’t pay attention to the uniform theatrics. Kentucky is the worst SEC opponent we’ve played. They would be tied with Miss St if Ole Miss could handle them.

I was going to attend that game, but I was still nursing a sore throat from Bama game and Kentucky wasn’t worth a night game.

Why did Ole Miss lose to them in Oxford?

Best win: ole Miss -Ga; Tennessee -Ala. Tennessee winner cause Bama beat Ga AND committee themselves rate Alabama over Ga.

Losses: Ole Miss- @home vs Ky & @ LSU. Tennessee- @ Ark & @ Ga. Winner- Tennessee no home losses& Ark & Ga are better than Ky & LSU.

Something isn’t right with OM rated above Tennessee.

Regardless. We beat them every year. It’s hard to keep up with these one win opponents.

Why did Ole Miss give them a win while no one else has?
I’d say you have a hard time keeping up with a lot of things. But I guess the reason why Ole Miss lost to Kentucky is the same reason Arkansas beat us despite losing to a Big 12 team that hasn’t won a conference game. Stuff happens.

However, if Georgia sucks like you claim, we don’t deserve to be in because both of our losses must be to a team that sucks.

Just trying to jog your memory about where the game was actually played.

If you want people to take your opinions seriously, it helps to get the basic facts correct.

Ole Miss has two strong wins in UGA in resounding fashion and a surging South Carolina team....

It also doesn't help that UGA and Beck bounced back the following week to beat us in our worst defensive game all season.... That just makes Ole Miss shutting down UGA even more of a big deal.

I just fail to see why people are taking issue with Ole Miss of all teams in the playoff standings as if it is down to either Ole Miss or Tennessee.
Maybe because they lost to KY at home. KY has won ONE SEC game......and it was at Ole Miss.

You can claim they had two strong wins.....but they also had to horrendous losses....much worse than ours.

So you don’t think being Kentucky’s only win of the season, at home means anything. Ole Miss just took the day off because Kiffin is smarter than everyone else.. I think you’re an Ole Miss fan to fantasize so shamelessly.

No. I do not think that losing at Home to Kentucky AND Beating Georgia/Arkansas by a combined 91-41 margin is somehow worse than us beating Alabama AND losing to Georgia and Arkansas....

50% of their strong wins is a loss in on our record

the other loss for us was to a team they beat in the same stadium by 32 points.....

They have one big win. South Carolina lost 3 out of 4 games in that stretch.

And South Carolina is a win vs Clemson away from ending the regular season in the top 15..... Ole Miss beat them by 24 in their stadium.... Big Win

Let’s not forget, the whole reason we’re debating is because you failed to note Kentucky’s 1 win being against Ole Miss in Oxford. You made a convincing argument, except you omitted what was inconvenient. I’m glad I was able to keep up with that for you. I didn’t even find it hard to do.

There is a cluster of 2 loss teams for a reason. They’re just not that good or they are all equally as good. However you want to spin that, Georgia’s comeback against Alabama was fueled by officials changing the way they were calling the game at halftime. I am unwilling to pretend that officiating didn’t affect the outcome of the TN/ GA game either. Every time TN got a stop, the officials made a controversial ruling to keep the drive going. Aside from those two quality opponents, GA has Texas, who hasn’t beaten anyone in the top 10. Currently, no one knows how good Texas is.

Thank you for that. I wish the guy I was responding to could be as gracious.

The fact that matters is Ole Miss lost at home to a team that hasn’t beaten anyone else. That’s the fact that the post I responded to conveniently omitted.

Maybe add in a Ole Miss loss to 3-3 LSU as well as TN beating Alabama and that makes better sense?

Ole Miss:
Beat 6-2 Georgia (Home)
Lost to 1-6 Kentucky (Home)
Lost to 3-3 LSU (Away)

Tennessee
Beat 4-2 Alabama (Home)
Lost to 3-4 Arkansas (Away)
Lost to 6-2 Georgia (Away)

Their best win is similar to ours
Their losses are worse than ours.

Once again, you are trying to somehow make the case for our resume over Ole Miss when our two losses are to common opponents with Ole Miss that they boat raced.... While they have a very bad loss, them beating in blowout fashion the two teams we lost to is like double whammy for us.

I fail to see why the focus is solely on Ole Miss and Tennessee here for the playoffs....

SoCar has a history of losing games they should not by big numbers. That absolutely submarines any “big win “ you can assign to beating SoCar.

No one is putting the focus solely on Ole Miss, it's just that they currently have the sport that rightfully belongs to us.
Their two losses are to teams with a combined SEC record of 4-9 .......that means KY and LSU are 2-9 against non-Ole Miss SEC teams.

That is horrible!!!! GA and Arkansas are a combined 9-6 in SEC play.

Ole Miss's losses are far worse than TN's. There is simply no way around that.

The reason for Ole Miss/ TN is because the Big 12, ACC, and Non Power 5 all get one auto bid. We’re at number 11, Georgia is 10, and Ole Miss is 9. We get left out if we aren’t ahead of at least one of those teams.

Miami might drop out with a second loss, but probably not in a conference championship game. Whoever beats them gets an auto bid for the ACC.

Indiana may not drop 5 spots because of a loss to #2 Ohio State (Look at Texas’s loss to Georgia).

The reality is that unless someone loses to an unranked team, I don’t see a pathway back in, which is a real shame because we didn’t get a fair contest against Georgia. I can’t make an argument to be in over Georgia, but I damn sure can over a team who was Kentucky’s only win and has kept LSU at the .500 mark in conference play.

If we can somehow get a two possession win over Vanderbilt, I’ll argue against Bama being ahead of us also.

Refs would probably just cheat us again. It'll save you the stress

I think the first thing to wait on is the Indiana and Ohio State game... If Indiana gets nuked, I will be eager to see how far they drop because they won't have a Big Ten title game berth vs Oregon to play for.

I will laugh my ass off if Vandy beats LSU this weekend and cues up a 7-4 Vandy vs 9-2 Tennessee.

That would be wild. Vanderbilt moves TN ahead of Alabama and Ole Miss after topping Ole Miss’s loss and then losing to TN.
