I was really just using MSU as an example of some weak SEC West team not named Bama...(who we always played in October).

And, to give Coach Phil credit....he usually whipped Alabama. Anyplace & anytime.

I don’t understand why it is hard for you all to grasp this.

Ole Miss barely lost both of their losses. Georgia outscored us 31-7 in the last 3 quarters.

Ole Miss absolutely destroyed one of the teams that beat us in that team’s stadium, and really solidly beat the other team at Ole Miss. We squeaked by one team that beat Ole Miss in Neyland and haven’t played the other. They have the more impressive showings and better record against common opponents.

They also destroyed South Carolina in Columbia, so their second best win is far better than our second best win. Even their win over a bad ACC team is better than our win over a bad ACC team, because Wake beat NC State.

Not to mention that their defense has been about on par with ours overall, but their offense has not been woeful for at least half of every conference game like ours has been.

The committee is making this crap up as they go. They act like head to head is big but ignore it with TN - Bama and BYU - SMU.

They even dropped Miami behind Bama when they were idle and Bama played Mercer.

TX should clearly be the lowest 2 loss SEC team if A&M beats them but there is already talk of making sure they get one of the 4 slots by punishing A&M if they lose the SECCG and by keeping TX in front of TN arguing they have a good passing attack or some nonsense like that.

Georgia is projected to be in the SEC champ game. Alabama is not.
LSU beat ARK. We lost to ARK.

It's all about recency bias. Nearly all of the rankings are based off what's happened the last few weeks. If Ole Miss had beat uga back when we beat bama and we had beat bama just a couple of weeks ago, then we would be higher because we would be perceived as "hotter".

So your role is to be as negative as possible on all things TN....I get it (kind of).

The guy from the committee that was on the show last night sounds like they're changing their emphasis each week. All we can do is win out and hope nature takes its course

While I think that pecking order is pretty much set the rest of the way out (Texas, Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia, and then Tennessee), I will be eager to see what happens if Vandy beats LSU and if we beat Vandy in a blow out.

I don't think we have to make the case over Ole Miss. I think we need help from non SEC teams which is nice. Anything that happens intra SEC is just icing on cake.

There will have to be some modifications of the process that include mandatory use of some metrics. Most importantly, SOS. Penn St has no fkking business at no.4 and Notre Dame absolutely has no fkking business at 6. Hell, they lost to a 6-4 MAC mid-major at home. That should be an automatic disqualifier for the committee

I have found that I agree with a lot of points you make. However, I must vehemently disagree here. That MAC team that beat Notre Dame in South Bend is now 6-5 after losing by double digits to powerhouse Miami(OH) last night.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 There's no fkking way the committee can ignore it because everyone will be talking about it. Yeah, ND beat A&M early, but then lost to NIU😯

And, in the interest of fairness, the committee chairman did say they have been very impressed with the way Notre Dame has bounced back from that early home loss to NIU. I mean, who wouldn't be impressed with the way they have handled those 8 unranked teams who have a combined 36-44 record with the only true road game coming at 1-9 Purdue.

I don’t remember Fulmer ever saying but that doesn’t mean he didn’t. I do remember Majors saying it every year though.
