Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M

If that play (the one that was reviewed) tonight was not proof our conference's refs are bad, I don't know what is.

No kidding. The ref was 5 yards away from the guy, looking right at him, and didn't see his knee on the ground. Or maybe he thought he was officiating an NFL game.

Assuming SEC West does cannibalize itself (and it will), what team makes it through to 11-1? Bama, if they beat LSU? Ole Miss, if they beat one of LSU/Arky on road AND Auburn at home? Miss State, with road dates at Bama and Ole Miss still on tap? Wouldn't be surprised to see everyone at 10-2 or worse, with no playoff teams.

I wouldn't either.

It has happened before. Teams have had tremendous down games. The 1985 Bears forgot how to play against the Dolphins and it cost them an undefeated season.

The 2007 Patriots had a down game in the Super Bowl against the Giants. Oregon had a down game against Arizona. It happens. I never said it will happen, just that it COULD. There is always a chance that a team can turn it around extremely quickly. For you or anyone else to state that it CANNOT happen is fallacious and dumb.

That one's a terrible example to try to relate back to an upcoming college game.

I can at least get using the 1985 Bears-Dolphins game, but this one really doesn't work here.

A serious flaw in all those comparisons.

Teams make mistakes. That's a fact. Ole Miss could turn the ball over. They could not tackle well. Bo Wallace could have a terrible game.

Are you honestly going to sit there and say those things COULD NOT happen?

You're arguing two different things now so I'm done. My initial comment regarded the OL and the OL only, now you're trying to argue that upsets happen. Obviously they do and everyone knows they do so you can argue with yourself on that one.

I like the optimism about upsetting Ole Miss, but I don't think we'll see anything other than the expected: Worley getting blindside sacked multiple times, Worley running for his life, runs for no gain or negative yards, and slow developing plays that go nowhere.

This same crap has been said over and over here the last 5 years.

I would go back and read carefully what I did and did not say. I never said it can not happen, only that there is no reason to beleive our OL will suddenly be good next week.

By all means though, continue to misstate what we are saying and argue with yourself, it's comical to watch.

I understand the point that you are trying to make. However, the Dolphins, Giants, and Wildcats possessed many things that the Vols do not have, namely a serviceable offensive line. Yes, there is an extremely slim chance that UT will play damn near flawlessly while Ole Miss will self-destruct but the probability is near zero. I'd much rather keep my expectations closer to reality, especially since I will be at this game. Perhaps if the game were in Neyland we would have reason to be more hopeful.

Kenny sucked. The defense sucked. We sucked. Ole Miss came in here in front of 110,000 and beat the life out of our guys in the first half. Total bust.

& the Kenny "trill" **** can stop any moment now.

I think Kenny "trill" will be ok in the future, but the guy I like to watch play is Speedy Noil. That young man is going to be a good one.

That was the flaw. The 1985 Dolphins went 12-4, won the AFC East and lost in the AFC Championship Game. The 2007 Giants obviously were NFC Champions to be in the Super Bowl, and Arizona lost their first game last night.

The ones that expect us to win in Oxford next week or dare I say, compete, will be heartbroken and will be making more idiotic posts in the FF about "Butch isn't going to get it done" and "Butch ain't no better than Dooley". Ole Miss is best where we're worst. They possess probably the best DL and definitely the best overall defense that we'll see all year. It's going to be a long night for the Big Orange, and most are fans still won't be ready for it.

I just wish we could run some of their offensive plays. Get north the ball x1,000.

The hype for Kenny Hill sure dropped like a rock.

Non-existent running game + bad D = Tough

Johnny had the ability to run at the right moment which created uncertainty in the opposing D. I don't know whether LSU will beat TAM in later in they year but I thought TAM has the easier offense to scheme against.

Kenny Hill might be a better passer than Johnny but he doesn't have the ability to make the D uncertain. Either way I don't have much respect for TAM's type of football.
