According to Rivals, we have 16 committments @ this time. We need the following 11 players to get to 27 and have a heck of a class:

Da'Rick Rogers
Markeith Ambles
Corey Lemonier
Chaz Green
Arie Kouandjio
Ahmad Dixon
Damien Robinson
Eddrick Loften
Delvin Jones
Rajaan Bennett
John Cullen

I think from what I have been reading on here and other sites that we are in on all of these players. What do you guys think are our chances with each of these players?

I would be amazed if we landed all those guys. I'm not a guru or anything, but that looks like it could be a top 5 class with what we have already.

The recruiting fallout of X leaving seems to be over. Coach DD is left to salvage a once impressive group of young players committed to the Vols. The players on our board now are Vols and will remain Vols.

Today by all accounts our class is still amoung the top 20 or so in the country but look at the work we must do the just get slightly better.
With Hunter coming aboard and the possibility of signing a few more top players, we will have a respectable class, but oh, what we have lost.

The offensive line has been hit the hardest with Cullen, Green, Stone, Robinson, Coleman and possibly C. Smith who many thought would be moved to OL. These players have either taken UT out of consideration or have moved us from their leading school. These players were the largest portion and biggest need of this class. The OL departures may be devastating to our program.
Come on CDD and lets get this thing rolling, we are running out of time.

And to M.Ambles " Go somewhere Else" our WR class is loaded and a scholarship to a project OL or LB is needed more than you... GBO

actually i still want ambles so....

in all honesty, i would not be suprised to see all of them in orange. is calvin smith considered recommitted?

I wish I could say the same, but I think that with the unproven track record and the unfilled staff, Dooley is gonna have to show some results on the field first. But I could be wrong. That class would probably put us at #3-#4. I don't think anyone is jumping Florida...4 5* is just ridiculous. Urban Meyer "leaving" was the best thing to ever happen to Florida.

I like your thinking but Cullen will not be coming East. Cregg was his guy as much as CLK and he most likely won't go any further East than Oklahoma now.

According to Rivals, we have 16 committments @ this time. We need the following 11 players to get to 27 and have a heck of a class:

Da'Rick Rogers Yes but only if/when you include
Nash Nance his roomate and QB who Chaney loves
Markeith Ambles Possible but I would lean no..
Corey Lemonier I want him badly. We have a chance but he is likely headed elsewhere because Calvin his teammate now seems headed elsewhere
Chaz Green This is probably the player we need most. I think we get him.
Arie Kouandjio It looks like he is going to USC for a visit instead of UT. That sucks. Maybe his brother will come to UT after Arie tells him how much of a liar Lane K is. But we now have an official from Torrian Wilson
Ahmad Dixon He is someone we really need. Willie Mack needs a big raise if we get him.
Damien Robinson we should end up with him or James Stone
Eddrick Loften Another Willie Mack recruit
Delvin Jones Yes please
Rajaan Bennett or the MS St commit
John Cullen We will need another OL probably at this point and it will probably be the JUCO guy talked about from John Browns school.

I think from what I have been reading on here and other sites that we are in on all of these players. What do you guys think are our chances with each of these players?

Add Nash Nance and Corey Nelson (I hope and pray) or a JUCO lb and take away 1 OL and Corey Lemonier or Ambles. I like this

Who do you think you are telling our recruits to go elsewhere? Why don't we trust our coaches to decide who we need to sign and let's support the program instead of trying to tear it down???

Trust the coach and support the program instead of tear it down huh? Priceless!

UT lost some very good players...but our class is better than average...with a chance at very good if we can lok down some of the guys interested in us.

This class is still going to be top 15 according to sites, of course the jury will remain ou until a real evaluation can be made.

Virginia Tech always ranks in the 20s and whipped our butt. I think we are going to have a solid class possibly a great class, but I don't put a lot of stock in the rankings. We need a beef heavy class that traditionally lowers the rank of a class but those big boys are the difference in winnning championships.

People really need to stop creating threads that say absolutely nothing. You're right we need more OL, everyone knows that, and congrats, you don't like Ambles. Who cares?

If we can get half of those players then I would be impressed... i think that CDD will also go after some of the players he could only dream about getting at LATech and that was never considered at UT until they hired him, maybe some real steals.

The title of this thread is crazy. Average??? Average??? You have to be kidding me. The way our class stands at this moment is still above average with some great blue chip guys. Corey Miller, Justin Hunter, J. James, T. Meline, Jac Smith, T Bray, Copeland, Palardy, etc.... This will be a top 15 class!

If you want to see average, look at our 2006 & 2008 classes. Those classes really hurt us. Considering the circumstances, I have high hopes for this class and look forward to the O&W game.

I see where you are coming from, average based on ratings because we are right in the middle of the SEC in ratings with our recruits. I see a 15th rated class overall with some good players coming in. Last recruiting class (2009) was rated 4th in the SEC, 10th overall. I guess that is average as well. Not in the top three in the SEC.

Ok. lets do some math here, Stay with me now Mini Me.

4th out of 12 is above average. Now

6th out of 12 is average. Have we come to an understanding or is more math needed...
U are the one who started being a smar# @$$ GBO

I really don't need a math lesson from you. You stated your opinion and I stated mine. You think this class was once impressive (never higher than 6th overall and 4th in the SEC, FL, AL, LSU were all higher) and now 15th overall and 6th in SEC we are all of sudden "average". Sounds logical to me...

Not if you compare quality rather than quantity. Per Rivals, UT has the 4th highest star avg behind UF, UGA, and Bama.

You should really be more careful with the info you post.
