The recruiting fallout of X leaving seems to be over. Coach DD is left to salvage a once impressive group of young players committed to the Vols. The players on our board now are Vols and will remain Vols.

Today by all accounts our class is still amoung the top 20 or so in the country but look at the work we must do the just get slightly better.
With Hunter coming aboard and the possibility of signing a few more top players, we will have a respectable class, but oh, what we have lost.

The offensive line has been hit the hardest with Cullen, Green, Stone, Robinson, Coleman and possibly C. Smith who many thought would be moved to OL. These players have either taken UT out of consideration or have moved us from their leading school. These players were the largest portion and biggest need of this class. The OL departures may be devastating to our program.
Come on CDD and lets get this thing rolling, we are running out of time.

And to M.Ambles " Go somewhere Else" our WR class is loaded and a scholarship to a project OL or LB is needed more than you... GBO

I agree completely. I do not think alot of posters on this site realize how important it was for us to sign a Top 5-10 class while addressing our needs positions. Of course, with what Kiffin did, that will not happen and we will see it on the field for years to come. Not only are we getting weaker as a program but Florida and Alabama are getting stronger by picking up blue chip after blue chip. We are simply getting the leftovers. Bottom line. And it sucks. The funny thing about it is, people are going to expect Dooley to compete with our roster against these power house programs. That will not happen. Tennessee football will be average for at least another 5-7 years. I just hope other Tennessee fans realize that. Bc if they dont, they are in for a rude awakening. I hate the fact that we have slid so far over the last 8 years but it started with poor recruiting classes with Fulmer, 2009 was an average at best class, and this year is going to be below average. You just cannot compete if you dont have the horses to do so.

So far who we've lost:

Ambles
Thompkins- Replaced with Justin Hunter
Willis
A Dixon- Replaced with Eddrick Loften

It'll all even back out. Losing Ambles will hurt, but that is about it.

Maybe Coach Philip Fulmer will volunteer his talents to resurrect the OL. That would undoubtedly shock the college football world on NSD when the top 8-10 OL prospects pick UT.

Your kidding, right??? Thats about it???: We graduated four Offensive lineman and lost two more in the last coaching regime to transfer. We have no offensive lineman to speak of!!!!

If we dont get some or all of the OL we are recruiting, the only thing that will even out is our record with Kentucky. Get a grip and please get off the KOOL - AID.

class rankings are overrated. look at this class #3 ranking. look at how many missed. It also explains a lot of our troubles lately too. Good classes don't necessarily mean W on the field.

Next years class will be #1. Once we turn DD, Coach Garner, Searles, Thompson and the rest of the boys lose on them. And they see Rogers, Ambles and the rest of the guys dominating early. All the kids will want to come up here.

I agree, these classes are often overrated. Look at Montori Hughes. He is going to be a stud for us.

Even recruiting sources don't agree. Scout.com currently has us #24 and ESPN Insider has us #11 with our current 17 commits.
