Only going to do this once.

O.K., I’m goin to do this once and then move on in life. I’m still fuming over the officiating last night. They cost us that game. You can go on about the O line if you want to. You can go on about bajakian if you want to, about worley if you want to, about the running game if you want to. Truth is we could have and should have won that game. You guys are simply looking for someone or something to blame. That’s all…just looking for something to place the blame on. Our Oline was outstanding! You are talking about high school kids that got plucked off the high school field and thrown into the game against what is probably the nations best D. They were OUTSTANDING…I think ONE penalty all night. We knew it would be a miss match from the start. Truth is they learned fast. They got the job done jusssst enough to get us in a rhythm once in a while and they did jusssst enough to give us a chance. What more did you want? Bajakian doesn’t get it? OOOOOOO.KKKKKKKKK. You guys were the same ones calling for Jancek before the season. Look at what he’s working with. The guy has an outstanding resume. All I hear on the radio is praise for bajakian when the games are being played. Truth is, a lot of you guys are out of touch with today’s game. It’s a different game guys. Don’t go acting like you know better and if we had a running QB everything would be better. That’s not what todays game is. It’s a very complicated variety of scheming that's designed to wear your opponent down over time. Not only is it possible for a young undersized team to go up against a bigger team and kick their butt, it happens all the time. It’s very likely with todays scheming…you don’t get it? exactly….you don’t get it. So back the hell off and let these guys do their job.

We should have won that game last night…the officiating gave it to Ok because it was better for them, it was better for EasSPN, and it was better for the first NCAA playoffs. We were a couple of plays away from tying that game up, we could have done it with a few good calls and everyone knows it. So drop it…move on. With the kind of experience we are giving these young men and the kind of young men they are, and the coaching we have…we are going to win a couple we shouldn’t…someone is going down…this year.

Oh yeah, and Worley has run for downs in games, he’s done it very effectively, but the guy had been hit enough right? He is probably concussed, and probably should rest a few games, but are YOU going to take the ball out of that man’s hands and tell him that’s how his college career will end? NOPE, and I won’t either. So get it together. Straiten out your panties and calm the hell down.

im so high from all the smoke you just blew up my butt it ain't funny. you must of watched an entirely different game. I do look forward to more good things from our team but to say we should've won is simply silly. another good recruiting class & we'll be more able to handle the elite teams. GBO

Sometimes we call this....sometimes we call that. For some odd reason, Bowl Games seem to always be squarely officiated....given the "didn't see it/not enough evidence" rule.
really..

I am not joking. This post is so stupid, the fact that it has 10 likes made me seriously consider just deleting my account. He blatantly contradicts himself in the first 6 sentences for crying out loud. I am honestly stunned. I can only assume all the rational posters that would have derailed this idiocy by now are all staying away from the board until next week.

This is by far the worse post I've read on this forum. As with everything in life...you cannot change anything other than the things you can control. Butch says this, have you not heard it? You have to be good enough to beat the opponent + the calls that don't go in your favor. It's called leaving it all on the field. The officiating as a whole in college football and in particular the SEC is pretty freaking terrible right now, however you cannot blame officiating for a loss. There are 60 minutes of football...not one play. There are 60 minutes worth of opportunity, not one minute. When you go to blaming other things other than yourself, and things you have control over...that's what makes you become ok with losing because you can blame it on everything except for "we just wern't good enough".

Shhh.... I'm still reading the op's dissertation. :zeitung_lesen:

Seriously though, officiating wasn't great (lots of missed holding calls and thought the non fumble shoulda gone our way) but didn't cost the game. Really impressed by how far our D has come. O line problems are obvious and initially I was getting frustrated with some play calling but coach Jake was just trying to compensate for a very inexperienced line and trying to create something. We are on our way. Said all along I'm looking to year 4 and 5.

Lets just hope we do not get a thread posted in the next two weeks about someone calling Finebaum ranting that the game was ours and the refs took it away...

We know who won ....what we don't know is who would of won with proper officiating

Anyone watching the lack of any blocking from our offensive line can reasonably come to the conclusion that we lose no matter what the officiating was like.

The Vols lost by 24 and you're blaming it on officiating?

In his defense there were A LOT of holds that we're not called. How do you know that some of those holds didn't cost us points? Not saying it would have been enough to win but you never know.

Stopped reading at "the refs cost us the game".

That's ridiculous. If you can't see the difference in those two teams I don't know what to tell ya , other than you might want to study some film or something.

Take away 2 plays; the failure to overturn the fumble and the 14 point swing where Worley threw the pick 6, the game is 20-17. Officiating then plays a much bigger role.

Way too many variables to play 'what if'. I would bet that OU can make the same argument is the game was decided by a field goal.

I'm just glad Stoops took his foot off the gas pedal. They threw 11 passes in 1st qtr, 10 passes in 2nd qtr, 8 passes in 3rd qtr, and only 3 passes in the 4th qtr.

We played hard and I'm proud of our team. I actually felt sorry for Worley. But in my opinion, no matter how the calls went, we were not going to win that game or even keep it close. Yes there was a time or two that the game could have been closer in the second half but it never happened. Our OLINE got whipped as bad as I've ever seen. I don't think Oklahoma wasn't trying to score but I think they ran a very vanilla version of their offense for the last qtr and a half.
