Do you always make up a long and entirely inaccurate narrative to accuse people of who disagree with you? In your world, does taking a transfer QB mean the team has to forfeit any defensive players? SMH

Keep shaking your head, bud. I learned my posting ways from you and those like you. Thanks for the public and private lessons. When does the next class start?

I have never seen this kid play, but from this highlight clip he appears to be a QB that might thrive in Heupel's offense.

I have to admit, the guy does look Hookeresque with a touch of Miltonistic arm. His WRs have fly paper hands so that helps a great deal. I say that because some of those passes looked very high risk, but....

The year before transferring to Tennessee, Hooker threw 9 TDs and 5 INTs in 150 attempts. An INT every 30 attempts.

The year before transferring to UT, Milton threw 4 TDs and 4 INTs in 141 attempts. An INT every 35 attempts.

Armstrong, in 2021, threw 31 TDs and 10 INTs in 500 attempts. An INT every 50 attempts. In 2022, he threw 7 TDs and 12 INTs in 338 attempts. An INT every 28 attempts (barely worse than 2020 Hooker).

Much of what makes a QB throw more or less INTs has to do with the offensive system he’s in. Heupel’s offense simply doesn’t lead to many INTs. Armstrong had a better INT/attempt ratio than either Hooker or Milton pre-UT in his 2021 season under Mendenhall, then it got much worse under Elliot. Different offense.

The coach and the system matters. Armstrong has a ton of ability, which he’s shown, and would likely be a superstar under Heupel.

I’m not really talking about interceptions.

I’m talking about ball security, mostly from decision making stand point. What kind of QB are you? Do you try to force it even if it’s not there? Do you “think” you can make the throw or beat the safety even if you should check off or throw away?

Milton didn’t have but about 150 passes in his career……very small sample size. Heupel recruited him from high school.

You didn’t mention Hookers year before that…..13-2. Definitely shows he was capable.

Armstrong 58 TD’s 35 int’s, in basically 31 games 1.87 td’s per game, 1.23 int’s per game. (2018 & 2019 had just 2 to 4 plays per game except 1)

Systems are great, but each QB is different. Many will take off running too soon….even in a system like Heupel’s, some might not take off at all (if they needed to). Some QB’s might try to force the pass, some might throw it away. It’s not always the system.

but hey……..half the time…….probably more I don’t know what the heck I’m talking about. My opinion……and that’s what this is……isn’t very valuable.

Everyone here was hoping for an 8-4 year this year.Hendon played great;but, others(Hyatt,Keyton,Small,Wright,Fant)and others turned in a top flight season.Go with whom we have and trust our coaches to get what they believe we need AND who fits with our team.

If he wanted to come here and bridge the gap between Hooker and Nico that’s a be pretty solid imo. Love Milton, he’s stuck around and by all accounts have been a good teammate. But always gotta do what’s best for the team. Maybe CJH still believes that is Milton, I’ll trust the staff regardless

He's a volume passer.. Not efficient... Yes great stats.... But we don't throw 45 to 50 times a game..... Plus he was sacked 30 and 34 times the last 2 years.... That alot of sacks.... When he dropped back less he was sacked more..... He like a volume shooter in basketball...
What about Hooker at Va Tech? No one thought we were getting what we actually got there. I like Milton and want him to succeed but I don’t trust my season in his hands. Would be good to have a viable backup or two.
