Orange Britches

I’m fairly certain uniform choices were decided in a 30 minute meeting sometime this summer…and then some admin posts this stuff. No chance JH spending one second thinking about uniform choices.
I actually think Heupel does take some time to consider the uniforms being worn. That said, your sarcasm meter must be broken bc I was laying it on pretty heavy .

These orange on orange are pretty decent. I remember the ones that we wore against Memphis in ‘99. Those were vomit inducing.
Pretty sure that game was vomit inducing as well. I think we got out of there w/ a 1 or 2 point win .

I'm not in disagreement with you but its a sign of the times and its what the young players like now. Oregon started the revolution years ago and all of college football have moved to adapting multiple alternates. I will say we always play well in the blackout uniforms so I can't complain too much about the result. No more orange helmets though.
I was with you until the last sentence. Love the orange helmets, but they're probably best for the road with white jerseys and orange britches.

OMG you guys they took the time to announce the uniforms that they will be wearing ! Do you guys think Heupel maybe should be working on the offense instead of taking time to post on the teams official account ? I’m sure he has so many passwords he probably forgot and had to get an email or a code sent to his phone to create a new password and then enter it twice. Maybe he could focus and hopefully let an intern or graphics guy do it next time.
That anyone thinks that choosing uniforms and advertising it takes away from game planning is absurd. Top shelf ignorance

OMG!!!!!!😮 Heupel lost one minute deciding on uniforms 🤣🤣

I could be wrong but I don't remember the Fulmer Vols setting fashion trends and the first time I remember a lot of alternate stuff was during the Jones tenure. Imo, there are a few programs that have a distinctive look and don't mess around with their unis except on a few occasions. Iow, I don't think Michigan, OSU, Southern Cal, Texas, Bama, OK and LSU type program fans are sitting around wondering what color combos they'll be wearing this week. Imo, Tenn should consider themselves to be in that club.

Not all are into the uniform switches. Penn St and Bama have done very little if any. I haven’t seen USC do much of it. Probably some more. Some do it just once or twice a year. I don’t think we should be changing 3-4 times a season either. Especially when we got sone of the sharpest regular uniforms on the planet. The main thing I care about is winning, and at this time uniforms aren’t a concern of mine there are other things that should be much more of a priority. GBO!

The majority of the programs you listed there have all worn multiple alternate uniforms in the last few years. Bama, USC and Texas are the only ones that haven’t . Even your beloved Dawgs have worn alternates and they even bust out the white helmets during recruiting visits for pictures.

I love the orange helmets, but the remind of the SC beat down. So in my mind they’re cursed.

I don't see how anything the University does with uniforms makes them some huge priority or how having more than 2 detracts from anything else going on in the program. If you don’t care, go discuss a topic you do care about. Simple

Ray Perkins broke out white helmets for Bama in the mid 1980s. Michigan, in the last few years, has broken out some hideous alternatives, as has Ohio State. LSU has broken out some great purple jersey and white pants combos the last few years. Texas has wore black. Let's just agree you don't know WTF you're talking about. Even Notre Dame has worn many cool alt unis over the years. Geez. Have you actually been watching college football the past 20 years?

It's not my pony and darn sure not my show but I don't understand why a program so rightfully proud of their tradition would go away from the traditional home uni more than once at most per season. I've always thought the orange pants looked good on the road but it's tough to be in a Tennessee uni that looks sharper than the traditional white helmet, orange jersey and white pants with the stripe.
Players have a say. Doing something different every now & then is fun for them. Let ‘em have fun!
