Oregon Vs. ASU

And this is why I'm baffled at Oregon fans when they delude themselves into believe they can compete with the Alabama and Florida's of the world. You can't win big games giving up 300+ yards of total offense and 24 points in a single half. Sometimes you have to be able to man up in the secondary and bring pressure with your front four and a few blitzing backers. Oregon can't do it. They aren't talented, physical, or big enough, on the defensive sides of the ball. Especially on the defensive line.

Whoa, who's saying that we could compete with Bama? I think we could compete with Florida, but no one is claiming that we would beat Bama.

Plenty of Ducks. Check the Duck boards.

Florida would drop kick Oregon. That secondary would feast on Darron Thomas and that defensive line would have their way in the trenches. Furthermore, Oregon's secondary is pathetic.

Don't even act like a Duck fan if all you're going to do is bash. We would compete with Florida. There's no doubt in my mind about that.

It's not called bashing, it's called being subjective and calling it the way it is.

The same way in which I have no problem saying Bama will eat John Brantley alive due his lack of efficiency beyond 15 yards is the same way I can say I have no doubt Florida would dominate Oregon in the trenches. Watch the games if you haven't. Against both Tennessee and ASU, the two teams the Ducks have played with a pule, the Ducks offensive line has allowed the defensive line of it's opponent to dictate the running game(Tennessee was eventually worn down due to a lack of depth).

Furthermore, I've watched every Oregon and Florida game this season, Florida's secondary is the best in the nation. When you can man up on the edges and bring the house, it gives you a ton of flexibility.

And then there's the discrepancy in talent... A very large discrepancy I might add.

UF has so much speed on defense, they could definitely keep their O in check. It would be a good game. Neutral site, I'd take the Gators.

Well, considering that UW is probably our biggest rival and I know them well, I'd know them even if my grandmother was playing QB for them
That's it, turn in your fan card. I know literally hundreds of Duck fans and UofO students/alums and not one of them would ever say that.

The officiating was the most awful I've ever seen, and that's saying something (I witnessed Oklahoma vs. Oregon in person).

I know I will sound like an Oregon honk, but Oregon got jobbed 90% of the time on bad calls and phantom PI calls. And that fumble that was picked up by Oregon should have been a TD but some ass zebra blew a whistle. Not only that, but they gave Oregon the ball on the wrong 32-yard line because of the confusion between 3rd and 4th quarter. Instead of a short field the Ducks had a long field, and lo and behold did not score.

Oregon also had that BS phantom PI call that negated an interception and kept ASU's last scoring drive alive.

Oregon played very ****ty in the 2nd half, but I wouldn't say ASU game the gave away. Regardless of opinions, it was one of the most boring and frustrating second halves I've ever seen. Sloppy play, unforced turnovers, penalties, it all added up to a 4 hour game.

Nah, no Duck homer at all here. ASU was lucky to be in the game at all. UO dominated them in every facet of the game and officiating was the difference. Every call helped ASU. It was amazing. I think I even saw a couple of officials holding your defenders, which was made easier by the fact that several of them suck.

I actually dozed off near the middle of the 4th. That's how much of a drag the game became in the second half. And while the refs were terrible, they had little to do with Oregon's horrific play.

That was the most pathetic attempt at defense I've seen in a long time from a team that's supposed to be elite. The offensive line was dominated all night, the secondary was getting torched from start to finish, the receivers were lack luster, the play calling was stale, and the defense as a whole was and is flat out terrible.

Oregon needs some quick fixes on the defensive side of the ball or they will lose next week. Andrew Luck will have a field say with that secondary.

Also, I've said it once and I'll say it again. Chip Kelly better learn how to attract recruits to Eugene and quick. He needs more dynamic receivers(the most he has are system WR's), and bigger more athletic players on the offensive and defensive lines. In fact, he probably needs to recruit some better LB's and secondary players as well, because if he doesn't, his successes at Oregon will be short lived.

Edit: Vontaze Burfict is a monster, and was by far the best player on the field last night. Those are the type of players Oregon needs. If they aren't going to SC, then need to be going to Oregon. When that happens, Oregon will be a consistent presence on the national scene.

Eugene, OR, United States (AHN) - Police in Eugene, Oregon, put down what they described as a "drunken" riot consisting of about 400 young people, including students from the University of Oregon, that resulted in massive callout of law enforcement and the arrest of nine people.

Officers on patrol late Friday night and encountered several large parties that had spilled into the streets. Several of the partiers were destroying private property, including smashing car windows, and others were pulling down street signs, according to a police press release.

Was this a result of the second half ^^^^^^
