At a briefing for reporters at the Pentagon, a senior intelligence official said that before the burial the U.S. used multiple means to positively identify bin Laden. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity under ground rules set by the Pentagon, said a woman believed to be bin Laden’s wife identified him by name during the U.S. raid that killed him in Pakistan.

It just seems really fishy so I'd love to put this one to bed. It's like someone thought:

"Now that we have THE most wanted criminal in history, do you think we should hang on to his body just in case the American public, who has dumped trillions of dollars, ten years and thousands of lives in his pursuit, might want to take a look and verify his identity? How about some kind of independent firm that could shed some light on the cause of death? Nah, just shove him off the deck."

That being said, if we somehow calmed some folks and reduced the risk of offending anyone by dropping him off in the drink, that's probably not a terrible idea. Doesn't mean I agree with it one bit.

I heard something on the news about DNA match on my way into work this morning. They said they used his sisters DNA who died recently in the New York area. If I heard them right.

Yeah, I am aware of that report, but I don't necessarily believe everything I hear. I believe he is dead, but I wonder if there is some misinformation.

I want to know of an independent party who has looked at the same evidence and confirmed his death.

There are many evil folks out there who have doubles. This is reason, imo, DNA is used. That and releasing any pictures if they have them.

this is a situation where lying about it would kill every career involved. it would come out eventually. and if his face is really blown off i don't see what releasing the pictures would accomplish.

I didn't say Bin Laden is alive. I don't believe that. What I am skeptical about are the details of his death. When? Where? How?

I also never said Rose is bad. I've actually said he's very good, just not MVP. You have some reading comprehension issues.
