Other Games: Tonight is the night...

I looked back at espn top 100 recruits and NC state is getting it done with some 50 - 100 recruits mixed with recruits outside the top 100. Coaching and fundamentals!

As I posted, Wes could do wonders with Holly's recruits. However, as I posted before also, Holly was given the HC job because of loyalty, not coaching prowess.

Watching MSU vs. USC, so far MSU appears to be real, however, a long way to go. MSU is like roaches when you turn on the lights, they are all over the place. They are a hustling aggressive bunch. They do things we seldom do on rebounds, they gang rebound. Vic could do wonders with the talent we have.

16-15 first qrtr, MsSt is up. The bigs on both end are getting it done.

I can see now, Wilson and Coates being the LadyVol's biggest problem in a few weeks.. I hope CHW is watching..

They have more offensive options around Vivians compared to last year. Okorie, Dillingham, Johnson, Richardson and Williams can hurt you if you don't respect them, plus they have McCowan coming off the bench.

There are few teams out there than can stop the Coates-Wolson high low game.

They might want to have McCowan guard Wilson instead. MSU has no one with enough size to guard Wilson inside.

How will Nared fair against Wilson?

Dumb foul by McCowan with 1 sec on the shot clock. No need for her to pick up 3 fouls in the first half.

35-28 MSU at the half. Could have been worse had MSU not missed 5 straight FTs. Kaela Davis yet to show up for SC.

MSU looks legit. I'm curious how they'd do against UConn this year. SC much like ND... with the players they have, you'd think they would be better, but something just doesn't seem right with their team.

No way she can guard her 1-on-1. She'll need help defense... probably from Diamond.

The other option is to let Mercedes defend Wilson inside and Jaime guard Coates, but if Coates gets in the paint, then Nared is toast.

The better bet is to keep the ball out of Coates' hands at the top of the key and prevent those high low passes.

3 fouls on Coates with 8 min in the 3rd. Dillingham is so good at drawing charges.

Vivians have never met a shot that she doesn't like...

10-2 run for SC to take the lead 38-37.

Make that 13-2 after Gray sinks a 3 while being fouled.

Looks like SC is doing some flopping!

They needed to give Morgan Williams the block on Wilson. Just out of principal!

Both MSU posts have 4 fouls. I think SC might get this just from attrition. They have a lot of foul trouble.

49-48 SC going into Q4. MSU basically can't afford any fouls in the first 5 minutes.

With 3:30 to go tied at 55, both MSU posts have fouled out.

If MSU Houdini's their way out this, it will be impressive.

Vivians misses a guarded but makeable breakaway layup down 1 with a minute to play, and Coates powers for a basket on the other end.

MSU kept it a game, but I think they're out of options. Really good game tonight by SC in the 2nd half.

Vivians fouled shooting a three and misses the 3rd FT that would have tied it. Possession review with 17 sec to go, which could decide the outcome.

Edit:. MSU ball with 18 SEC and a shot to win the game.

Shaefer misses an open three with 6 SEC to go, Richardson gets the ball and mugged by Coates with no call and ties her up. Possession MSU.

There were two fouls by SC in the last 6 SEC, but the refs swallowed their whistles while calling Okorie and McCowan everytime they breathed on Coates or Wilson. MSU should have won this one.

As Dawn said in the after game interview they don't win that game if it's not at Home....MSU is the best team in the SEC this year....really impressed with them...South Carolina isn't bad this season 2nd best team in the SEC Wilson is getting better being her 2nd or 3rd game back from an ankle injury

MSU was really good, but that missed layup by Vivians at the 1 min mark was probably the difference tonight. If she made that shot...

Enterline and company must have been slipped a 20 under the table. It's not the first time I've seen him take away a teams chance to win. Davis killed Shafer on the screen and no call along with a bogus jump ball call by Enterline. I knew it would happen. My wife and I said he would cost somebody big in this game and he did. He blew the out of bounds call but at least in was reviewed and corrected. Great game but you can't take away a teams chance to win like that.

I think that lost them the game. She missed an open layup and a free throw. The refs missed a few calls too.
