Not everybody's on the conestoga with the boomers. They seem to be full of themselves, as was USCjr. at the first of this season and the Vols have a lot of speed in space, which Tulsa woefully lacked. I agree with the poster who noted that quick slants and quick hits to the slot and TE can slow down that "overwhelming" pass rush the boomers can unleash. Speed kills, and it's not only our defense that's got it. Too bad Derrell Scott's not going to play. He's going to be a difference maker in the future. Games like this are winnable for youthful teams with this much speed and athleticism.

lol. I bleed orange, but I'm a realist. I hope we can challenge them and I think we have the staff in place to do it. Just don't have the depth yet. It's coming though. Believe me, I ain't no negavol. :crazy:

Experience or depth?

I say experience. I like our depth better than last year but we lack experience in both our starters and depth. Minimize the mistakes and we can keep it a game.

We have everything against us at this time but talent.

We lack in:

Depth
Home field advantage
Experience in the starters and the depth and.....
One of our super stars are out


Anyway, if we based it on predictions, we shouldn't even strap em' on. But this is why they play the game.

WE can beat Oklahoma, going to be tough, yes, but we can win with the line up we have.

How to overcome this disparity is short passes, bubble screens and RB screens. These will slow down their rush and keep LBs honest to respect the screen and short passes.

Short here and there. Don't dink & dunk us or you may get someone killed.

OU plays Tech every year so they know that style of play. As tough as it may sound, I think the Vols have to still have a healthy number of running plays. Also, try to incorporate the TE.
