Our coaches hit the road today evaluating prospects....

Yeah, getting bulldozed three times at home this year won't have a different effect on recruiting than playing the eventual National Champion to the gun on their field last year. Nobody will even notice. I'm pretty sure fans and recruitis don't even watch games and check scores. They simply look at the standings Monday morning.

No they watch. They realize that the team is "great" even though they lose 7 games a year.

i think we will be a 5 or 6 win team this year.

i think if CLK and staff woulda stayed, we woulda won 6 or 7, and it doesn't really have anything to with coaching. we woulda have been able to bring in better depth on the OL and at DT and our best OT and best RB would still be here.

Dooley will be find if he gets a chance.

couldn't the same be said for Bama and Florida, who supposedly have the 2 best coaches in the country?

It takes an idiot not to win at Bama and Florida with the recruiting base of both schools.

Same goes for USC, Ohio State, Texas

Coaches drool over those jobs because its easy to recruit 5 star kids.

I was a little kid when Bill Battle was here,, Are you old enough to know Bill Battle? I faintly remember Bill Battle being a 'solid' coach. Tell me you have a better opinion of Dooley than Bill Battle

i can't remember Battle.

most of the time I have faith in Dooley but then he does something dumb like he did with Thurman and I start losing confidence.

i think he will be find.

Out of curiosity, what did those papers say about Lane Kiffin after he lost to the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs?
Not sure, but those game stories were run in the NFL section of every major newspaper in the country, as opposed to the crayon written weekly rags for inbreds that ran news of what Dooley was doing in Ruston.

Those two teams would be considered in the WAC of the NFL. They are still whack, even though the Chiefs drafted Berry.

The Raiders were losing to those guys long before Kiffin got there, though. Art Shell had some really bad seasons in Oakland.

agree on all counts.

what would you consider the Raiders to be then?

a powerhouse that should have flattened those 2 squads?

And now they will be writing about him in Knoxville. Just as they were with Kiffin last year.

I remember Alabama getting bulldozed at home for several years by the likes of UT and Auburn, but those 5 star players were still knocking at Bamas door every year.
