Our only chance of a home game is Penn State getting blown out by Oregon.

The committee has already said losses in conference championships won’t hurt/impact a team as much, if at all. I think unless there’s an upset and or a huge margin of victory, we are already seeing where Tennessee ends up.

He clarified that - losers and winners could move up or down.

And all of the current lines in the primary games are 4 or less points. They are not expecting blow outs which probably implies we will see several happen.

But basically, all these games are considered "toss ups".

Georgia beat Texas by 15 at home. Texas winning is an upset based on the previous meeting.

Texas is only ahead of Georgia in the polls because of the Ole Miss loss - nothing Texas really did - they just didn't play Ole Miss.
Upsets are determined by who is favored on gambling lines and nothing else.

Texas is ahead of Georgia because they have a better record in the same conference and was not an upstart like Indiana.

Oregon could and very well might blow PSU out. Wouldn’t be surprised
Some of this might depend upon the relationship between the coaches. I don’t think that Franklin seems like the type that would be loved and hang out with fellow coaches. He just seems to have an unpleasant personality. Maybe Lanning feels that way and would live to spank his arse? Or maybe Oregon, as a new member of the Big10, won’t want to look like a bully and hurt a conference members seeding?
I think we need Oregon to win by at least 20points.

Yes I agree, although Lanning seems like one that doesn’t care and I would like to see personally Franklin get blown out😂

I don’t even want a home game anymore. Kick em in the buckeyes!
I still think in the end we will be playing Penn St. They will probably lose and they will put them in between us and Ohio St. Maybe about a 20 percent chance at most if Penn State gets boat raced bad they fall behind us. But it will probably have to be by 27-28 or more for it to happen. If they lose by 20 or less they drop in between us and OSU. If it’s within 10 or less and competitive throughout we probably get OSU in Columbus. GBO

The Panel guy said on the CFP rankings show that they aren’t moving any teams that don’t play another game, because “there will be no new data points.” Please teach this man what a variable is.
They sure moved teams up and down on their regular season bye weeks based on the outcomes of other games played. What's the difference?

Well they have to move the top teams somewhere if they lose. And it seems unlikely they would move SMU below Bama.

TBH, I am not sure why Miaimi is not in there over Bama. I get their schedule is weaker, but I think most unbiased can see that Miami is the better team. Miami had 2 very close losses and one of them was to a GT team that nearly beat UGA at home. Bama's OU loss was really bad. They got dominated in every facet of the game. I can't fathom why the committee believes they deserve to be in over Miami or even SoCar. Hell, even Ole Piss has a better resume of wins than Bama.
Manuel channeled the TCU rule in his interview, which sets precedent that you don't have to drop teams in rankings for losing CCG. We aren't hosting.

Again, certain teams have to move somewhere. Texas can't remain at 2 if they lose. Penn State can'r remain at 3 if they lose. So, they gotta go somewhere, which means other teams have to move as well.

Yes they can. He said that exact thing. Now, I don't think Texas would stay two. Maybe 3, 4, or 5, but they aren't going behind us. Penn St is in the Big 10. The Big 10 is in control of this thing. If they fall at all, which they probably won't it's one place or - at most - directly behind Ohio St.

One thing is clear after Tuesday night. There is no way in hell they are allowing Tennessee to have a home game against a Big 10 team.

No they can't. At least in terms of seeding.

Or Texas beats UGA and they have 3 losses, which should mean they fall behind us
I think this is more likely to benefit us. Even if Texas loses they only have 2 losses and it's hard to think the committee will ding them that much for only losing to UGA twice.

The committee seems to be rewarding big wins more than they are punishing teams for a bad loss. OSU’s loss to Michigan is about equal to our loss to Arkansas, but OSU has two top 10 wins in Penn State and Indiana, which was their justification for putting them ahead of us. However, Penn State’s best win is Illinois, which is the only top 25 win they have beaten (Illinois is 21 right now in the CFP rankings). Their next best win I guess would be Minnesota, who is 7-5 and unranked. And the best team they beat, Illinois…their best win is 7-5 Michigan. On the other hand, our best win is Alabama, whose best win is Georgia followed by South Carolina. So if Penn State loses to Oregon, especially if they lose bad (which I think is fairly likely), I could definitely see them following below us. For what it’s worth, I don’t think UGA will fall below us for losing to Texas, especially with them having the head to head over us. But if Penn State falls below us and Ohio State, then Ohio State moves up to the 7th seed and Tennessee to the 8th seed, in which case we likely host Penn State (or maybe even Indiana).
I didn’t read everything you typed but based on your thread title I disagree. Our best chance is UGA picking up a 3rd loss. 2nd best chance is the Penn State blow out. Unfortunately, I don’t think either will happen. I think UGA beats ut again and Oregon beats Penn State something like 27-17.

There's no way they'll have TN and UGA matchup in the first round. If Oregon and Texas both win, either the rankings will stay exactly the same or Penn State will flip flop spots with Ohio State. Matching up TN with UGA would also match up Penn State and Indiana, a Big Ten matchup. I think there's almost zero chance that happens.
