I recently moved from East TN to Eastern NC (near Greenville) about 1 year ago. The one thing that killed me the most was not being able to see the Channel 6, 8, or 10 news to stay updated with my Vols. I didn't used to be so internet savy but it's my only contact with the Vols anymore (I'm all about some blogs, and I just registered here) Also out here they show O's games on FSN, I never see my Braves.

Anyway who else is Out of State and how do you deal with it?

I know the feeling. Moved from Atlanta to New Jersey where not only are the Vols not big...neither is college football! That really sucks. The 2 things that have kept be 'plugged in' have been ESPN gameplan so I can watch all the out of network games and then boards like this one. Between all the boards, most important info gets posted in one way or another. Also, I have found some friends who aren't Vols crazy but they do follow different teams in the SEC. This makes Saturdays pretty intense as we all watch the games. That's the best I've got...

Living in SC near the SC/GA border it's all about SEC football around here. Unfortunately, it's all about UGA and USC. The internet is the main source for all my Vols info. I would not get any news without it. This board fills a huge void for me.

I moved from Knoxville to Boston a little over one year ago. In fact, the game on Saturday (man..that's awesome..it's so close I don't even have to say NEXT anymore!) will only be the second time I have been back to TN since I left. Boston is a pretty good college football town...probably a better NFL town. There are A LOT of colleges here...but not too many with good football teams. Although it has its faults, ESPN gameplan is a good way to stay plugged into the games. Of course, these blogs are a good way. Reading the Tennessean and Chattanooga Times Free Press on-line (free) or Knoxville News-Sentinel (subscription).

I would love to find some VOL fans here in Boston to watch some games with though..the camaraderie of watching games with fellow VOL fans is definitely something I miss. It was hard going through last season alone..you need a support group for sh*t like that!!

i live in nashville so the local tv stations dont really keep up with the vols.

but i check out this board, the tennessean onlin, and Nashville's SportsRadio 560 WNSR

bill king's show talks a lot about the Vols and the tennessean usually has an article every day.

I am in FL. I can pick up WLAC out of Nashville very well down here at night. Also, yahoo.com simulcasts every LF game (formerly JP) for free. Lucky for me, I am also still in SEC country. Anyway, as far as TV goes, between national broadcasts on ESPN or CBS and yahoo.com, you can get a lot of Vol games everywhere. If ESPN or CBS regionalizes, and you're living outside of the SEC, that's where GamePlan and FullCourt become useful. As for being around other Vols, there is this board!

check out wnsr.com ...you can listen online. max howell's show is good, the sports reporters talks about the titans a little more than college football but is still entertaining, bill king aka the afternoon pressbox is my favorite.

Welcome. I think you will find that a lot of posters here live outside of Tennessee.

:hi:

Living here in Indiana the only time I get to see my Vols are when they play nationaly on CBS or ESPN. Last year I signed up for the ESPN Gameplan thing and got to catch a couple extra games. It would be great if a few members in the Knxoville area could tape the games and send them to us "out of state" fans to watch. I'd be willing to pay $10 or so a month for the costs.

I live in Big Ten country in Indiana. I live in West Lafayette, where Purdue is. But I go to college at Indiana University. So I get too much weak Big Ten football between PU and IU. But I get ESPN gameplan on my computer and with CBS and reg ESPN, im set pretty good for some quality SEC and BIG ORANGE football.

If it wasnt for that damn outa state tuition, I'd be a VOL.:BANGHEAD2:

Columbia SC isnt the best place for a Vol to live but its not the worst either. I hear alot of crap about Carolina, Darth Visor and Cemson but then again, Knoxville isnt too far away and atleast Im in an SEC town.

I live in Henderson right outside of Las Vegas, NV. My only chance of watching UT was by way of Jefferson Pilots Sports. Once again I will waste my money on ESPN Gameplan and probably see one or two UT games. I'm pretty sure UT vs UF and UT vs UGA will air nationally on CBS, but they show a lot of USC and UCLA out here.

I subcribe to InsideTennessee.com/Rocky Top News Mag. It's 100 bucks a year. Last year during bball season I went to UTsports.com, they update the score of the game and give stats every few minutes. Luckily I can get all the games on the radio since I live on top of a mtn. I live 30 mi.'s south of Huntsville.

I live, as I stated earlier, in ACC country and when me and my boys get in fights they can't hold a candel to me when it comes to football, but before the basketball season they ragged me hard, I told everyone of them we have Bruce Pearl now, and to watch out and after a #2 seed they kinda shutup. It still makes me mad because Tennessee and North Carolina could have met each other for a trip to the Final 4 if my memory serves me right and I had at least 4 bets lined up for that potentional match-up. Well maybe next year.
