'17 PA CB Lamont Wade

Wade currently ranked the 9th best player in the nation by Rivals. Would be a great steal for us. I know most see him staying in PA but if we get him on campus I think we have a decent shot.

Surprised you're not one of those who thinks Wade is over rated.

I know some have questioned his talent. He does have offers from OSU and Alabama and is ranked 9th on Rivals and 47th on the 247 composite. Don't see how you could pass on this guy if he wants to be a Vol.

Jesse Simonton: Top100 CB Lamont Wade will trip to UT for App State game. He called Neyland "the best stadium I've ever visited." 🍊😈

High praise indeed. But, I have always considered Lamont Wade to be a long shot for us. I may have to re-evaluate that position based on his comments after the game visit.

"His dad told me they still plan on making it down for an OV. I think that could get pushed back to Bama right now."

Ap St and Bama games? Nice.

Think this could portend at least one more year for Shoop in Knoxville. If memory serves Wade is concerned with staff stability.

Whoever has questioned his talent is frankly misinformed. Meyer and Saban obviously dont question his talent and their opinions hold much more merit than just about anyone elses.

That is true. He has competed well at the camps going against the best. Would love to get him.

From Scout:
Wade is a tremendous athlete with an ability to change direction and get to full speed in a few steps. He has acceleration and balance, and the ability to out-run a secondary or catch up to a receiver. He is elusive as a running back and physical as a cornerback. He tracks the ball well and makes big plays all over the field. -- Brian Dohn

I agree. I think we are behind in this one but if he's talking about possible multiple trips then we've got a shot.
