'17 PA CB Lamont Wade

Per Pittsburgh Rivals site:

Wade has recently made unofficial visits to Tennessee (September 1st vs Appalachian State), West Virginia (September 3rd vs Missouri), and Pitt (September 10th vs Penn State). The five-star has upcoming trips scheduled to Penn State (September 17th, unofficial), Tennessee (October 15th, official), and UCLA (November 19th, official). Wade is also considering an unofficial visit to Tennessee on September 24th and an official visit to either Penn State or Ohio State on November 5th

Tennessee: “That was actually my first time going on campus; last time I was just there for the game and headed back out. I was there from like seven in the morning until after the game, so it was a really good visit for me. I got to go around campus a lot. The stadium was rocking as usual, it’s a good environment in Rocky Top. It was just a really good environment on the campus all-around.”

West Virginia: “West [Virginia] is one of those schools that’s been there from the very jump, so our relationships are really good. They have a new [defensive backs] coach coming in, coach Blue [Adams] and it’s like the old DB coach never left because coach Blue is so cool. Everything is going good.”

Pitt: “Coach [Narduzzi] was riled up. Coach ‘Duzz was really excited about that win. That was a huge win for coach’ Duzz and I talked with coach Hill, coach Kabala, coach Conklin, all those guys… It’s really good. I actually sit down with coach Hill to pick his brain about some stuff. Me and coach Conklin sat down a few times. I’m on the phone every other week with coach Narduzzi and I’m building my relationships really well with those coaches.”

You think he would come in and start? Just looking at his video outside of a site rating is he better than young Buchanan? Buchanan had a real Ohio State offer too. Is he better than Osborne coming out? What about seniors Martin and Moseley? Plus we could move Abernathy back to CB to get Warrior on the field. Back end is LOADED.

3star CB Terrell Bailey just committed to us, the 4th DB commit of the '17 class. Along with the crystal ball picks for Pitt, I'm not having the best feels about Wade.

So be a big fish in a small pond instead of competing at a SEC school thats loaded? Doesnt sound like a 5 stars style.

I know this kid is young and doesn't really remember the history behind Pitt football, but i would listen if a Pitt coach told me they have produced the 4th most NFL HOFers including Dan Marino, Tony Dorsett, Mike Ditka, Chris Doleman, Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, and Curtis Martin.

And it really is hard to pull a good prospect from Western PA away from Pitt. If they do leave, it's usually to PSU. Wade essentially lives in Pittsburg (Clairton).

Really hope we land him though!!! Just think people underestimate Pitt as a program sometimes

I don't know. Kids that are rated 5* corners aren't found easily. People pick apart these kids all the time. Buchanan was viewed as an add on by our fans. I remember people bagging on Nigel at times saying he wasn't a player at this level.

Do I think he could come in and start? Possibly. He's a 5* kid at a skill position.

Bama stacks these kids on top of one another. It works itself out. We need this kid.

I think Wade could come in & definitely start at CB. He's that good!

5 star CB also don't have a top 5 of Pitt, WV, PSU, UT and whoever else is in that top 5. His footwork looks suspect to me and he is a little small for my liking. At the Rivals camp he got toasted a bunch.
Not sure if that 5star rating will hold up.

I know we have talent in the secondary. But I know this kid is a 5* for a reason. Cam is leaving so there's a spot open. He will have a chance to start.

Also, why all the sudden do people think he is going to Pitt. The kid is going to be down here in 8 days for his second visit in 3 weeks.

I do not get using players that were coached by different coaches. That's like when some on here use former Tn players from 10 plus years ago. If I am a recruit, I look at how the current players (or ones that played under current coaches) are doing on the field .

true. i dont get it either from a recruit's POV; but if i were recruiting someone with as much potential as Wade, i'd throw all the spaghetti at the wall....

I'll say this, I give credit where credit is due. Especially at DB, maybe I'm wrong but I'm sticking to my guns on this one for sure. 😎😎😎😎
