'17 PA CB Lamont Wade

Imma save this post BB, not really. But I'll say I told you so in feb.

If he's saying the 2016 guys are better, then how are you going to say I told you so in February? We could land the 3 5 stars and Breaker could still be right......or wrong. Either way it won't be proven in February 2017.

Athletically the 2016 class is loaded top to bottom at DB. Wade is a kid that may not end up as good as his rating. He's a good player but athletically he's not a monster like the kids in the 2016 class. Stevens and Gibbs are legit though for sure. Top tier studs but 2016 has Osbourne, Warrior, and Byrd headlining the class. Best DB class in the country in my mind.

Agree with you. Wade is solid. But I don't see him as a 5* can't miss guy.

Level of competition isn't the greatest, either, although I'm sure that one guy from western PA will disagree with me.

The #1 CB in the nation needs to be able to lock up on an island and consistently win. One would need 5 star hips and speed to do that. His rivals camp vid didn't display that.

It displayed consistent catch up, and stiffer hips than I expected. Although, he does have a tremendous knack for using hands to defend. I haven't seen tape with pads on, maybe everything comes together for him. Maybe his speed/agility drops off 0% while most drop off by more. Can't make that judgement.

But I'm in similar agreement.

In pads he doesn't look like a 5 star and his make up speed doesn't look elite at all to me. I think he's a "good" player but not what they are pumping at all for a 5 star CB.

This kid amazes me, his ball skills were amazing to me in Columbus. Him and TJ were 2 of the best cb present at the camp.

But Breakerboy said he's not that good!??

I said he didn't look like this special 5 star CB prospect. Said he was a good player though. Just didn't look like a 5 star CB to me. What's your opinion on him again? Since you tried to call me out.

How do you think he will fare versus Higgins when they matchup in the Summer?

Just messing man..in fact, I always appreciate your insight on the DB's. Like most young players, I think he relies on athleticism over technique...but no amount of either would help him with Higgins. Tee is a certified freak...nobody that big should be as quick/agile as he is. Still want to see Wade in Orange...I'd like having him and Labruzza to start this DB class considering they kinda compliment each other.

I really hope we can land this kid. I think his relationship with Shoop helps us. I think he likes us more than its mentioned. I don't think OSU is as high as some think. Just my gut feeling after watching some interviews.

It'll be us or Penn State.

Really? He's made 3 visits in April and May. Hasn't visited Penn State since their spring game. Buckeyes are a factor. Most believe they lead.

I could be wrong I'm just speaking from my gut. I watched an interview and when reporter asked about OSU he didn't really have much to say. But he perked up and had plenty to say about us. It may be me just being hopeful. Who knows...

"Just caught up with Lamont Wade's father for a few minutes. Tennessee is certainly in the mix and he's planning to come back down in July and I would say the Vols are in line for an official visit this fall.

The two instate schools, Pitt and Penn State are very real possibilities as well. Alabama is in the mix and the family is visiting there on Monday and Mississippi State afterwards."
