Pac-10 Expansion (merged)

The Pac-10 does make jack in TV revenue right now, but they will ink a new TV deal by years end. If Texas and Oklahoma are present, there's no reason the new Pac-16 couldn't get the most money per school of any conference in America.

Sure this has been posted somewhere but i don't see it. this is by the guy who broke it all:

Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma are waiting for a formal announcement by Nebraska about joining the Big Ten before announcing that they, too, are headed west to the Pac-10.

But sources say Texas A&M is still seriously exploring joining the Southeastern Conference. That charge is being led by A&M regent Gene Stallings, who, of course, won a national title in 1992 at Alabama as head coach.

The other four Big 12 South schools may wait through the weekend before making any kind of formal announcements about joining the Pac-10 to allow some time to pass from Nebraska's expected announcement on Friday.

But if Texas A&M waits too long to commit to the Pac-10, the Aggies could be put on the clock, possibly opening up their invitation to another school, sources close to the Big 12/Pac-10 merger said.

Schools that could possibly be considered for invitation to the Pac-10 in place of Texas A&M would include Utah and Kansas, among others, the sources said.

the more I think about expansion, especially after today, the more I want the Pac-10 to get Oklahoma, Texas, A&M, OK State, and Texas Tech... How would USC be able to compete with Texas and Oklahoma after being placed on probation.

PAC-16

Nebraska, according to a long list of reports, is headed to the Big Ten, opening the door for a mad scramble of Big 12 Conference schools to other leagues.
Colorado jumped to the Pac-10 on Thursday, one day before Nebraska is expected to formally announce its move to the Big Ten. Most believe the Pac-10 will expand to include six Big 12 teams, including Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
It isn't perfect, but it may be the best option for the Sooners and Cowboys.
The Oklahoma schools are hitched to Texas for better or worse. Where Texas lands is where OU, OSU, Texas A&M, Tech and Baylor want to land. It appears Baylor may be out of the Pac-10 plans.

Texas will announce its plans to join the pac-10 after its regent meet next Tuesday, source confirm to orangebloods.com

as i've read earlier on ESPN today, the dominoes have already fallen. Let's just get this over with and get back to playing a game fooball.

This may have already been covered but, why are Utah and BYU not being considered for the PAC-10? Geographically it makes sense.

Oh come on! Would they really not consider BYU because of their religious affiliations?? That's mega discriminatory. Not only that, BYU fields a pretty darn good football team.

What about UNLV?

Especially for things like women's soccer. Texas wanted so badly to avoid not being the dominant football program in their new conference that they completely hosed the rest of their sports.

I know some individual Mormons who are decent people, but hat's right, they are complete nutcases as a group. Forward-thinking top tier academic institutions, as 73% of what the Pac-10 is comprised of, would never allow BYU in even if you increased the endowment for all them a hundred fold.

Speaking of religion it's mind numbing that Texas, where HS and College football IS a religion, would go to the PAC 10.
