Didn't say that. What I am saying is that he's scum.

So doing that to a white president is ok?

Not if its really a threat. And its disrespectful to any POTUS. I would be critical of anyone for doing it, against any POTUS, including Republican PsOTUS.

But, clearly, hanging a black man in effigy, yes, that has some extra degree of crappiness to it.

LG, the only person I know other than you that uses the race card in lieu of an argument is Obama.

Which one should offend us the most? The President, Uncle Sam or the baby?

the hanging effigies of McCain and Palin in San Francisco in '08 was excused away as "art"

LG is concerned only with the color of a person's skin, again he demonstrates that he is the one with a problem concerning race

wasn't that at a Dem fundraiser or something like that?

the pastor is still a POS though.

Both incidents are very wrong and I criticize both.

But of Obama, yes, that's got an extra level of meanness to it based on racial context that all should condemn.

I wouldn't say its criminal and it is permitted expression because of the First Amendment. I'd like to have seen more people on here completely disassociate the right from this in any respect and join the rest of society in harshly criticizing this. And yes, because of race.

More than a little surprised that folks won't address the racial overtone here head on and call it for what it is.

"extra level of meanness" is stupidity. It's how we get silly crap like hate crime legislation passed off as laws.

Again, surprised you just won't say it has a racial overtone to it that you find unacceptable and condemn. You'd rather complain about political correctness than call this out for what it is.

I find the whole idea that we're trying to legislate who people can and can't hate anathema to how we were founded. The freaking idea that you're trying to make this about race is stupid. He should get a call from the secret service whether the president is purple, pink, blue, orange or freaking polka dotted.

Hating people is every bit a right in the USA, regardless how backward it might be.

CBC staff: Opposition to Obama is racist | Campaign 2012 | Washington Examiner

you're just rehashing your previous argument that any opposition to Obama is inherently racist.

Hanging the POTUS in effigy is always in poor taste, but why must you always seek to use Obama's skin color as a shield from any kind of criticism/mockery?

Yes he is.

Men like this guy give Christanity a terrible name.

The pastor is in a box this year.
He supports Obama, who supports Gay marriage
or
He supports Romney, the mormon, which Christians consider a cult.

I agree he should get a call from the SS regardless of the race of the person hanged.

I am just disturbed that people would rather dodge the race issue here and talk about political correctness as though its okay to do this. And I don;t mean criminally.

I mean that society, even opponents of Obama, ought to be outraged by the obvious racial overtones here.

No, that is false. Plenty of criticism of Obama is justified and plenty is correct. I suppose that is part of the reason that is so appalling to me that hanging him in effigy is not being singled out as reprehensible "criticism" or "comment."

New Dem rule: hanging in effigy can only be done for white people

No, it should not be done for any POTUS.

It is worse when done to a black one.
