Pat McAfee Situation with ESPN

Kimmel actually fired the first shot saying Rodgers was nuts for thinking a list existed in the first place months ago… which is what Rosgers was alluding to. He didn’t claim that Kimmel was on the list, but he left it open ended.
This feud apparently goes back even further to when Aaron Rodgers was refusing to get a COVID-19 shot and Jimmy Kimmel publicly took him to task for being against the vaccine.

Sigh. Rodgers vs Kimmel is either two guys who are full of themselves arguing OR two guys with good, sly PR guys.

I'll bet Rodgers shows up on Kimmel and they "bury the hatchet" in a show that gets good ratings for Kimmel.

Kimmel is the a-hole comedian that even Letterman had too much self respect to be on the air.

Rodgers is a great QB. I don't care if he takes a vaccine or odd hallucinogens or bangs famous women or whatever. He'd be "crazy Aaron, 3 houses down, yeah, that guy" if he didn't play football.

The PR machine fuels all this crap. Seriously. Who cares if those guys beef? "How's Rodgers' going to come back from that Achilles injury?" is my only question about him. His lifestyle being out there is ALL...... every bit....... PR.

IMO, Rodgers has found a way to monetize his personality/non-sports aspects of his life. It's a shrewd business move that lots of athletes do as they reach their twilight years. Brady did it, Peyton did it, LeBron is doing it, and Travis Kelce has really started doing it this year.

Yep. And falling for that is what Americans do.

Namath did it years and years ago. He created, with the help of Madison Avenue, the fur coat wearing sports playboy. He was the first one that I "caught wind that this can't be all real."

There's nothing wrong with it. What sells eyeballs and clicks and you can stomach to be known as........ enjoy the ride.

I'm just past believing it's what these people really are.

Kimmel is in the subset of "entertainers" who are MASSIVELY narcissistic to the point of being mentally sick. How could a person who makes his living off of weak-minded people by making fun of and "accusing" to garner a laugh SUE someone else (who happens to be an entertainer as well) for doing the same to him. He can't and he knows he can't. To consistently put the likes of Kimmel and his other late night "underbelly of society" mentors on the air to engage a regurgitating public SHOULD EMBARRASS US ALL. That's what the main stream madmen think of us. And....me thinks thou doth protest to much Mr. Kimmel...Hmmmmm!

People saying Kimmel overreacted have no idea how much weight these accusations can hold among the conspiratorial-minded. Just putting the implication out there is enough for a good fraction of the country to believe he's a pedo.

Example, my buddy told me P Diddy tries to make people in the industry gay and wouldn't sign Chris Brown because he wouldn't let him bang him. He sends me a youtube video that has someone explaining "it has been reported that in an interview Chris Brown said Diddy tried to make him gay." I Google it and all I can find are other youtube videos making this same claim. There is no clip. There is no direct quote anywhere. Just people believing the claim and making repeater videos, and now a million people probably believe it.

This is how this crowd works. You can't cast these aspersions on people. It's not a joke to them. They will spend the rest of their lives repeating these allegations online. They will harrass you and your family, in some cases. If you said it in a standup set, then yeah, but people didn't think Rodgers was joking.

Just look at Chrissy Teagan. They think she's a pedo and when she had a still-born baby, all of them came out of the woodwork to say stuff like "She shouldn't have a baby, she's a pedo" on posts about her misfortune. This crowd is out of control.

That's the goofiest thing about all this. Kimmel has made his living making fun of people, including in ways that are genuinely awful, and someone makes one offhand remark about him and he goes off the rails. What a weiner.

It really is the irony isn't it? Some people simply can not see TRUTH. They literally do not possess that ability. For Kimmel to be offended is actually comical in itself... If one choses to enter the public arena....BE AWARE...;the same rules apply to you as well. Now of course Kimmel is small potatoes... I get that...But this "what's good for you isn't necessarily good for me" crowd has been called out. And they are hot and mad about it. I have had deep discussions on this very issue with others...I'm guessing many of us on Volnation had rather not discourse it here....

I get what you’re saying but Kimmel did get on national tv and make comments with the direct intentions of demonizing/ruining Rodgers reputation and potentially his career. It wasn’t comedy. It was 100% politically motivated and we all know it. And let’s think back to the covid inanity. I realize it wasn’t on the level as being considered a pedo but being an “antivaxer” was no walk in the park. The vile things I said to me by supposed friends, family, and coworkers was insane and people like that douche are mostly to blame. He can take what he gets and like it as far as I’m concerned.

Rodgers did a good job today addressing the issue on the show. God forbid someone thinks for themselves! That is unacceptable! You must bow down to the politically correct or face the wrath of the third rated late night host on television. Kimmel started all of this by saying Rodgers was a nut job for saying the Epstein list existed. So of course Rodgers was spot on in saying Kimmel hoped the list didn't come out. The idiot Kimmel had to save face after being proven wrong, so he twisted Rodgers words and played the victim card. I would say Kimmel is a joke; however, that may make readers think I find him funny.

Intention to ruin his career? On what planet would attacking AR's beliefs about science ruin an NFL career? Intention to ruin his reputation? How did he ruin his reputation? Rodgers outted himself. He's challenging other football players to vaccine debates, for hell's sake.

How about this? Rodgers wanted this attention. Kimmel disagrees with him. He gave him negative attention. You can dislike Kimmel for this, but in no way is it comparable to saying somebody you don't like is on the side of pedos.

OK, what? Hypothetically...

You say the vax doesn't save lives.

I say you're an idiot threatening lives with this position and your influence.

You falsely connect me to pedos.

You think this is tit for tat? You think this fits the rules of engagement?

What I think is that we clearly see this situation so differently that further discussion would be a waste of both our time.

Can you link to a video or an article that has that quote from Kimmel? I'm trying to figure out just how this idiotic feud started, so I can make fun of each participant to the appropriate degree.

This all goes back to Kimmel slamming Rodgers for being against the Covid vaccine. Rodgers has told the truth about Covid, therefore he must be discredited.

March 2023: Jimmy Calls Aaron a ‘Wack Packer’

Aaron first talked about the alleged list of people associated with Epstein during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in March 2023. Jimmy responded to Aaron’s conspiracy theory comments on his talk show and made fun of the famous athlete.

“Needless to say, all this UFO talk has the tin foil hatters going wild, including whack-Packer Aaron Rodgers,” Jimmy said, adding, “It might be time to revisit that concussion protocol, Aaron.”

There is much more to this, but it seems everyone in the media has chosen not to report. Kimmel basically said Rodgers was crazy to say there was an Epstein list.

Y'all are getting some bad information. Unfortunately people are more interested in defending Kimmel than reporting the truth (imagine that!). Kimmel started this mess by calling Rodgers an idiot for believing there was a list. The existence of such a list would make Kimmel look a fool. Of course Kimmel didn't want the list to come out. Rodgers statement had absolutely nothing to do with Kimmel being on such a list. Kimmel is 100% in the wrong and trying to play victim to cover his comments now that names are coming out from the Epstein list that Kimmel said did not exist.

I get all that. The reason I brought it back to vaccine comments was if I was Rodgers, due to said comments, what effect anything I said had on Kimmel’s reputation would mean less than nothing to me.

What Rodgers said is a reflection on himself. He doesn't care about Kimmel. But he should care if his own behavior is trash. He's ruining his own reputation. Not Kimmel.

did you forget all the craziness going on about the vaccines during Covid? it 100% was going after his career.

There was a basketball player that wasn't allowed to play even if he tested negative. the tennis player who I still don't think some nations are allowing him to play without the vaccine.

you had the general public and public officials calling for the forced vaccinations, firing, taxing, and removal from society of those who weren't vaxxed.

he lost sponsors during that time for being publicly anti-vax. it absolutely hit his bottom line. just because society has conveniently forgotten that attitude doesn't mean it didn't exist and negatively impact many people, including Aaron Rodgers.
