As far as I know Auburn and Duke are locks as 2/4 number 1 seeds.

That leaves 2 left with :
Bama, TN, FL are floating around for those last spots.
After the KY loss , I think we may have slipped down to 3rd.
- Bama
- FL
- TN

Bama has everything to gain and everything to lose. Every single game left is a top 25 matchup.
They only get bounced out if they go 2-5 which seems unlikely .. SO- that will lead us FL and TN for last spot. I’m

Even if we win out we’d need a FL loss.
- OR,
If we lose 1 game it can only be against Bama , Ole Miss, or TX AM and hope FL loses twice to any team .

TN remaining schedule:
Vandy
@TX AM *
@lsu
Bama *
@Ole Miss *
South Carolina

Florida remaining schedule:
South Carolina
Oklahoma
@lsu
@Georgia
TX AM *
@bama *
Ole Miss *

Florida has the easier schedule remaining and they’ve had the easier schedule overall, especially OOC. I think the best team they played was Wake. The problem is they have 2 less losses now. What’s crazy is that game at SC they should’ve lost might end up being the difference. That was their Vandy game, they found a way to win and we didn’t, although Vandy is better than SC. It’s not unfathomable they get a loss in those last 4 games but I doubt they lose 2 of them. If they don’t lose 2 then we can’t lose again to pass them, which is also unlikely. 5-1 for us is certainly possible but 4-2 is more likely. UF doesn’t have 3 more losses. I’m not ruling out the possibility we pass Bama as they have a really tough schedule left. They would at least 3 losses, one of which has to be us and we go no worse than 5-1. Even then it might not be enough to pass them due to the schedule they’ve played OOC.

Are you thinking only SEC teams have a shot at a 1 seed (other than Duke)?

Plenty of other teams outside SEC are contenders. SEC may knock themselves out
of 2 of the #1 seeds.

I expect Houston as well as several others have probably a better shot at a #1 seed than Bama, UT
and maybe even Fla. simply because they aren't gonna finish with the difficult sched that SEC teams have.

I was just thinking about Houston also, and if Purdue runs the table maybe also

I’m more worried about A&M and Ole Miss on the road than I am of Bama at home. Barnes has had Oates number the past three times we played them. They very well could lose to us, and Auburn twice. Then lose to UK (again), Florida, and @ Mizzou. They had an easy SEC schedule at the beginning and now it’s brutal towards the end of it.

2-5 for them isn’t as crazy as it seems.

Speaking of possible #1 seed
After that win last KY fans are talking about winning out and getting a #1 seed 🤣

F me man, those KY losses suck. 😏
They have sucked off our success this year like like little leaches to salvage their season. We get both those wins and they'd be looking at being on the bubble tip with a loss to Texas.
Whoever says losing those games don't really matter much are wrong. Win just one of them and we are probably a #1 seed Saturday afternoon.

we seriously need to beat Vandy
If we for real are who we think we are, we will.
We lose that game and I think it says a lot about us. I can excuse most all of our losses this year.
Definitely KY since they shot ridiculous both games. Flordia only real horrible performance but we redeemed that one.
Vandy is a good team no doubt but that's a game at home we should be expected to win. Especially coming off a disappointing loss.
Team talks about " get right " games and this is one of them.

Same goes for KY and Texas. If they are trying to say they are a top team that Texas game is a must win

Battle for the 1 seeds is going to play out like the college football playoff did - SEC had 7 or 8 teams in contention for 12 spots.
SEC only put 3 teams in the CFP because we beat the hell out of each other.

Houston has a very good shot at a 1 seed. So does Purdue and St. John's...I also wouldn't be surprised if Iowa State or Arizona made a push.

Speaking of Arizona , lost yesterday, too.

Vandy is spiraling right now, not only do we need to beat them we need to kick their ass

Houston does have a pretty tough finish actually.

I agree they’ll lose some. I’m thinking 3. The problem for us, at least as far as the 1 seed discussion goes, is Bama and UF are both 2 losses better than us. All things being equal, Bama likely gets the nod over us. That means we would need to go 5-1 or 6-0 and need them to lose 3 or 4 games. Both of those things aren’t likely but possible, of course. With UF, I believe we have the slight nod with all things being equal in total losses. However, if we go 6-0 they have to lose 2 or if we go 5-1 they have to lose 3. Florida’s schedule is the easiest of all 3 down the stretch and they’re playing fantastic ball right now so, like Bama, it seems unlikely, but possible. We can only control what we can control. We can’t lose more than 1 in these last 6 games and even then it might not quite be enough for a 1 seed. If we win them all I believe it will be. I’ve always said 6 losses would get us a 1 but I didn’t anticipate UF upsetting Auburn so that might have changed the required number.

Purdue just went down yesterday. So did Michigan State. Houston is the only real threat IMO. That's assuming we take care of business the rest of the season
Ya I saw that lol. Houston and Houston. I mean Purdue or MSU could run the table and win the big ten tournament also, but the middle of the road teams there can snipe them at home plenty
