We need to mind our own business at this point. We don't have a single foreign policy win since WWII.
The reason we had a WWII is because of isolationism post WWI. The time from from WWII until now has been the most peaceful time in European history. Why?

IMO the harsh sanctions against Germany lead to ww2. Are you saying we should've joined ww2 earlier? Europe is peaceful b/c of the threat of nuclear war

Oh my gawd... nevermind. Whether it is Buchanan or Ron Paul or now Trump, these guys will blame a candidate for having some racist organization supporting them. The candidates can't control who is attracted to their message (and the media knows this as well as most anyone with common sense), yet, we still play these silly games.

Trump, nor Paul, nor Buchanan are not KKK supporters. Just stop it.

Trump had the chance to squash that from the start. I mean, who doesn't know who David Duke is? And a man as intelligent as Trump very well could have added two and two even before his morning Wheaties from that question he was asked. Yet he bumbled through that answer without saying straight up "I don't support any racist organization at all and I'm not looking for their support."

Done.

I'm not saying he supports the mission of the KKK, but he damn sure should have put a foot down as early as possible. To claim ignorance over who David Duke was is lunacy.

This is just ridiculous on your part.

As Hillary would say, what difference does it make?

You know he isn't a KKK supporter, so what is there to made out of this?

It's called picking your friends wisely. And certainly putting the brakes on the idea that you are tolerating the support of white supremacist groups.

No for having a hissy over a "gotcha" question about an inconsequential person.

Not that I'd expect any more of you.

Funny that I don't expect anything less than a childish retort from you.

And who's throwing the "hissy" over someone stating their opinion?

And this is why we can't have nice things.

Buchanan had to fight the same type of nonsense that Trump is dealing with now. Everybody (including you Grand) know there is nothing to this story. So why even waste our time on this subject when there are probably a dozen other things that they could legitimately criticize Trump on?

You brought up the subject to begin with. We were having a reasonable discussion on why Buchanan's message would be better received today as opposed to 20 years ago. But since you brought it up, I decided to respond. But make no mistake about, I criticize Trump on all sorts of things to include this. You can't run for President without facing, and defeating, the gotcha type questions. Something he's not exactly been doing well as of late.

And for the record, I do think Buchanan is a bigot.

Asking about David Duke is the worst "gotcha" question in the history of "gotcha" questions. I mean seriously this guy is a moron.

Wait, what are you suggesting right here? Picking your friends wisely?

Let's not forget Pat is one of the few politicians to be interviewed by Ali G and not come out of the thing looking like a total idiot.

Don't go reading into it too deeply and trying to create something that isn't there. I don't think Trump is a racist or supporter of white supremacist groups before you start on that tangent.

Tell you what, try reading Reagan's 1984 quote on the KKK and see what a real leader should have said.

What Donald Trump should've learned from Ronald Reagan's 1984 KKK comments.

I guess I consider it typical shenanigans and a trite political tactic that you see the media and opponents play that at this point really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

It has kind of blown up in the media. And they probably are looking for practically anything to toss at Trump right now.

But I think it does matter in the great scheme of things. Not this singular incident, but everything that's been piling up as of recent with him.

How much more of this does Trump have to do? I mean seriously... Can we move on to actual real criticisms of Trump and not this old playbook media fabrication?
