How is that a lie??? Bama had one guy that could constitently get open that was Julio. PP could come in compete for a starting role from day 1. I also think BAMA will have a better passing qb next year. JPW didnt make many mistakes but he wasnt a game changer.:shaking2::tease2::wassup::naughty::dunno::moon2::pirate::stop:

"I'm going to wait until all my visits are up," Patterson said. "When I take all of my visits, that's when I'll know where I am going."

So just what is Patterson looking for out of his four visits?

"Out of my visits I am expecting to develop a good relationship with the coaches, tour the campus and check a lot of the other things out," Patterson said.

As for when he will announce his decision, Patterson will not do that until signing day.

"I'm going to try to surprise everybody when I sign," Patterson said.

I do know everyone's thinking he stays in Mississippi or heads to Tuscaloosa.

If he's true to his word, then Patterson's a Tennessee lock, if he truly wants to "surprise everybody".

Well Chaney's been telling recruits that our offense will be a pro-style offense with spread components.

Purdue's offense under Chaney put up huge passing numbers with Drew Brees, but they also had solid running numbers.

It seems like Lane will be the chief architect, implementing a pro-style offense, but Chaney serves as consultant and quality control. Don't expect a 50/50 hybrid of their backgrounds---probably something like 90/10, 85/15.

What if Bumpis commits to Bama first, there would be no way they could fit in Patterson. I dont think Bama can sign a full 25 anyways.

That's weird because he really isn't high on any schools that are going to be running a spread. If that were the case, then you would have to think he'd be considering MSU and he isn't. I'm not sure where you heard that, VG, but I wouldn't put any stock into it.

I like that he grew up rooting for Peyton and the Vols. I like our chances with him, but I wouldn't call him a lock like someone in this thread did.

Yeah....I heard that...that he had rooted for Tennessee as a youngster. That's funny that he was 6,7,8 years old when Peyton was playing...wow...I was 16.

When the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder from Macon, Miss., decommitted from the Bulldogs back in September and told BulldogBlitz that he wanted to play in a spread offense where they threw the ball around. When MSU brought in former Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen and his spread offensive attack, Patterson took notice.

Why would a WR say that he is only interested in playing in a spread offense? I understand basic X's and O's of the spread. I understand the difference at the QB position. What is the big difference at receiver?

the traditional spread is quick hitting patterns. The offense is made to freeze the defense because they have to read whats going on in the backfield. WR are gonna get the ball thrown to them 1-3 seconds after the snap 80% of the time. I guess if you were a WR you may like this if you believe you could get big YAC.
