Patterson scored a 11 and Hunter a 12 on the Wonderlic Test

I'm getting tired of hearing "CP can't run routes", and "Hunter can't catch." We get it! All I know is I saw two play makers suit up in the Orange and White and they will be very valuable to any NFL team that takes them.

Agreed. Whoever makes the argument that Hunter can't catch should explain why he had 73 catches this year, the second-highest single-season total in school history. He stone-handed one here and there, but no one is perfect.

Maybe can't win is a better term. This offense had all the stats, but at the end of the day Vandy was able to out scheme it.

i think the important thing learned from this is that president cheek has placed academic requirements at tennessee that are an impediment to success

but will still make more than 99% of all college grads

And will be broke right after they are cut. Did em huge favors huh? Someone must start demanding they learn SOMETHING; for the Rest of their lives. That's what academics are for. Not for the big contract, but for learning what to do with the money. And learning to be as asset to society, not a lifelong burden.

I thought that Hunter and Patterson were enrolled at U.T. They apparently met the academic requirements of Mr. Cheek, didn't they?

Scores as low as Patterson's and Hunter's just shows you can be as stupid as a stone and still make millions if you can catch, run, and/or throw.

In either Patterson's or Hunter's cases; is this really new news? I never saw either as the mental type personally. Certainly listening to them speak to reporters was just confirmation of the scores received as well.

Mcshay was on Mike and Mike this morning. He said Patterson is one of the most electric players he has ever ever seen with the ball in his hands, which we all already know. But he went on to say that he thought CP might end up at running back in the league. Has anyone else heard this being a possibility?

Uh...no. He will NOT be a TB in the NFL. He is a WR/Specialist in the NFL. He's a good size wideout, but would not hold up very long running between the tackles in the league...and a TB has to be able to do both. NFL defenses can beat you at the edge if they know you don't have the punch to run between the tackles. I do look forward to watching him work his magic though.

The Wonderlic might also reflect an individual's abilty to make smart decisions in all aspects of his life. And I'll bet if one analyzed the many NFL players who get into trouble of one kind or another, a majority got a low Wonderlic score. That's not to suggest that CP and JH will make bad decisions--they've had no problems that I know of and both seem fairly mature--but decision-making is a function of intelligence.

Dang a lot of posts about guys being broke and wasting money! Sounds like jealousy. Check the stats on the average American's 401k balance within 5 years of retirement. Athletes waste money just like the rest of us! Nothing special about that..just that we want to point it out because we think we would do so much better. The stats don't back it up. Check the stats!
