Maybe it was to a degree. But I think calling it a politically motivated attack is lazy and gives the assailant way too much credit. The guy that shot Steve Scalice, the guy that assaulted Paul Pelosi, the guy that beat up Rand Paul, the guy that shot Gabby Giffords - they were all just nutcases who clearly had lost touch with reality. Calling it a political attack feels like it elevates them to a status and a level of thought that they just don't deserve. They may have had political thoughts, but mainly they were just some combination of dumb, crazy and disturbed. It was.
And what exactly are the 'facts'?
Assassination attempt on a Justice because democracy worked is political. Leaking Supreme Court rulings to incite violence is political.Maybe it was to a degree. The police gave no details and wouldn’t take questions. My hunch is it’s a cover up that Paul likes peckers and got into a lovers quarrel in which he got his ass beat and the Dims are in denial and the fixers can’t fix it. If it quacks like a duck, it’s a ***** duck, not a platypus. They are well reported by the police and responsible news outlets. Not my fault you are so obsessed with it being other than what it appears to be that you've gont numbskulls just with ridiculous conspiracy nonsense posting on Twitter which gets reported here and the usual mouthbreathers in the forum lock onto it.
Edit: on reading other accounts it’s more likely there was one hammer they were fighting over. They are well reported by the police and responsible news outlets. We are not talking about your Jan 6 fixation here. We are talking about PP apparently getting his freak on and Democrats stupidly blaming Trump. Again. Like always.Of course all of those people are wackos and do not represent the vast majority of people aligned with them politically.
But you have to admit that when the GOP dumbs down, dismisses as minor, and otherwise excuses a mob of people breaking into the US Capitol and briefly occupying it, that tends to tell the nutcases that such is acceptable as political discourse.
