There was a horrible missed face mask in the App St-UAB bowl game. An App St player drug the UAB qb to the ground by the face mask in front of a ref—no call. Officiating gets worse each year.

As I get older, the more I want the power 5 schools to break away from the NCAA, form their own organization and have schedules that can eliminate all doubt as to the strength of leagues/teams before playoffs are played.

Every year there is a team or two that have no business in the playoff. And this year, Clemson (who I am sure belongs in terms of being a quality team) was given a free pass to the playoff based on the strength of the ACC.

That's the problem with the playoff. They pick the "right 4" based on record, but they aren't the best 4. They just aren't.

So does lack of depth on defense explain all the other CFP appearances for the Sooners?

Because if it were eight you wouldn’t have the 4th best out in round 1 and the 8th playing #1 in the semifinals in a game that’s over after 1 Qtr.

And Oklahoma doesn't exactly have a history of being merciful.

Ed can be stingy. He has proven that over the years. He wants to beat Oklahoma bad, and he would score 80 if he could in this game.I do believe that running up a score can be maddening for another team though. There has been coaches get mad at other teams, because they thought they were running up the score at times.

Totally agree! It’s ridiculous to have over 100 teams in 1 division playing for 1 trophy when 70 have no chance ever.

I didn't mention this in my previous post, but I also have a soft spot for Coach O.

Let's face it. People label him as stupid.

So, I kind of think of this as.....so you think I'm stupid, huh?

I just put myself in his shoes and if I had taken that kind of grief over the years, I'd be enjoying the hell out of this to the fullest.
