Coaches like Pearl don't come along every day .. his charisma had a significant role in getting it built and in filling the arena, imo ... that's what makes his missteps so disappointing ..

if his contract will allow UT to fire him b/c of what he did, then they will have to decide if they want to roll the dice w/ him or roll the dice by trying to go out and find somebody to replace him .. not an easy task

The charisma brought the fans back, his results kept the fans coming back.

Wins will sell tickets, please don't act like that wouldn't be the case.

Wins cure all.

easier said than done .. there's no telling what results an interim coach would have ..

imo pearl's charisma is a significant factor .. just look back at uncle jed .. he had a pretty good record, but the fan support wasn't the same ..

Who would the interim coach be? All the assistants also lied. One could call this a conspiracy of lies. I'm sure the NCAA will never consider that since all of them lied that there was any discussion or plan to assure that all coaches stuck together in their lies. Pearl not only created ethical issues for himself, but also for his entire coaching staff.

I thought Pearl was the perfect fit for UT prior to these issues. I cannot support cheating and lies. He is an embarrassment to the university and athletic program. All the good he did has been greatly diminished by his actions. It turns out that Hatvol was absolutely correct about his character all along.

So Stevie pimps for him. No wonder he got so much playing time last year. I fully understand now. Most coaches have pictures made such as this one with young coeds.
