Pearl Grants Griffith's Wish

I agree with the to's but I just think we will be able to hide him more on O (unless they press him) with Hopson and Harris handling the ball. Just don't think we can do that on the D side.

I agree. If McBee is in at point, look for the offense to run the Tobias like it did when Tyler Smith was here.

How is saying give the guy a chance first taking anything personally? I'd say bashing him and anyone who disagrees with you is taking it personal.

I agree, but recruiting for next year doesn't help right now. Pearl is trying to fix the present. Hopefully the guys coming in next year will be the answer.

You really call "giving a guy a chance" at this point in the season a solution? I would call it desperation.

Goins having 2 assists in 94 minutes has done a lot to already put that in jeopardy.

Not having a half-court offense is what puts it in jeopardy. Pinning Pearl's failures with being able to run a competent half-court offense all on Goins is completely unfair to him. He hasn't been good, but it's certainly not all his fault.

I agree with that. But, if we're having to hide our PG, I'd much rather hide Goins or Golden than McBee. Then you wouldn't have the huge defensive liability.

I'm not saying that. I don't think Pearl is doing this because Goins can't get the job done. He is doing it to wake him up.

There is another issue. We do not want him dribbling too much.

I'd still take the ball in his hands over much of the team.

If we are talking about getting him the ball at the wing or a position where he can score I'm with you, if we are talking about him bringing the ball up the floor and initiating the offense I'll disagree.

That would be the most logical.

How about running the offense through our best players instead of just tossing the ball back and forth from 40 feet until there's 5 seconds on the shot clock? That makes much more sense to me than putting in a kid that has no prayer of succeeding.

But we get so many points off our flex cuts made at half speed.

I don't think he will initiate it but I hope the O runs through him and Tobias (with some BW). Just have McBee get the ball across halfcourt and put it in their hands
