And JP Prince is about 1000x more capable of actually running the point than McBee.
UT doesn't necessarily need him to create his on shots, or drive to the rim to score. He just needs to create plays for other players. He doesn't turn the ball over a lot, and with his limited minutes compared to other players to say he can't shoot is not fair. He has a better 3pt % than Tatum and Golden and very similar to Harris'.
I guess the "move JP Prince to point" move in the 2008 tournament is racing through my mind as this being a "we have no other move to make" type move.
This season is in full crash and burn mode. They are looking at needing some season-ending upset wins to make the NIT tournament. The schedule is brutal for a team on a three game losing streak.
Pearl changing the lineup is the only option. Bashing him for making a change in personnel is supporting staying the same - which is a losing streak tailspin.
Interchanging underachieving players at this point is only trying to get a spark from someone. Doing nothing is not an option despite those clamoring that McBee sucks. It's pretty obvious they all suck at this point.
We're .500 in a crappy conference. We'd be lucky to finish 3-3 in our last 6 games. If we go 2-4, which is very possible, we're toast.
The committee will look at UT as a team that started strong, but is a completely flop down the stretch. Those teams watch the dance on TV.
I didn't say that he was. Just offering up comparable statistics.
So the fact that McBee (who consequently was brought in to drill the outside shot as his #1 objective) is shooting at a lower percentage from three than Harris doesn't suggest to you that he is not filling the role he was brought in for?
Do you really think Mcbee, a walk-on, was brought in to drill 3s on a regular basis? I think McBee has been brought in to eat up a few minutes at times to rest the starters. He may do a terrible job at PG. I don't know, I am going to wait and see before I bash the kid. Maybe that isn't your style.

Again. You're pretty good at offering up completely irrelevant comparisons. The only reason that McBee is in the game is because he supposedly can shoot. That situation is not at all comparable to Harris or McBee.
HE'S EARNED A SCHOLARSHIP!!!!
And to answer your question - YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why else would he be here?
How is presenting facts and saying he's not doing what his job on the court is bashing a kid?
How is comparing their 3pt statistics irrelevant? I didn't say that was Harris' role, and that it wasn't McBee's role. All I have said from the beginning is that I am all for a little change up if it gets Goins' head out of his butt and makes him play better. I don't think McBee is the answer to the PG problem. I'm sorry that I don't share your opinion and that pisses you off. I don't have to agree with you, and you don't have to agree with me. Move on.
Presenting facts isn't bashing the kid, but going on and on about how we are doomed if he plays PG is. Yea he didn't earn a scholarship, which is why he isn't the terrible player you and others go on about. If you know anything about shooting you know it is about getting into a ryhtym. You don't get into a rythym playing as little as McBee does, ecspecially coming off of the bench.
