Didnt everyone give Roy a hard time when he had a couple of fans removed for cheering against him in a game last season?

It happened tonight. Pearl notified a cop in the 2nd half that two guys sitting behind the bench were being too hard on him and wanted them removed. The cop spoke to the two for 10 mins, but they settled down and were sworn not to BOO the coach or tell him to sit down.

The sad part is that they were probably Vol fans.

I don't like coaches tossing fans unless it's really severe. I'll wait and learn about what happened before I judge.

I think if there are a couple of fans right behind the bench (within a couple of rows) that are constantly yelling obscenities and heckling him throughout the game and it is really affecting his coaching then they should be tossed.

CP needs to focus on the game and he had enough distraction with his teams play. His first game back against KY, not watching from TV should be enough. The rotation is a constant problem.

you will always have this with lack of class from opposing fans. We need some leadership from someone and anyone. We have to get back to basics to finish out the SEC.

A coach shouldn't care unless it's really something personal against a player. Even then I think it would depend on the situation.

A Kentucky fan yelled "Welcome back" as Pearl headed to the locker room following warm-ups. But not all proved as welcoming. A small group of blue-clad fans directly behind the Tennessee bench shouted things like "cheater," "liar" and other unprintable words at Pearl (which, given Kentucky's own spotty NCAA history, seemed a little ironic). At halftime, Pearl asked arena security to do something about the fans.

"It was just the language; my family is back there," Pearl said. "They can say whatever they want."

My thoughts exactly. Unless someone is taunting a player with something personal in his life, or something beyond ridiculous....just deal with it. Its a rival game, fans are going to yell unpleasant things. If you dont like your family listening to it, dont bring them. Again, this wasnt a home game or against LSU.

If Bruce takes enough time to identify and listen to people make these remarks then he's not focusing on his job.

He should have just offered up one of those tearful apologies to their fans. Works for ours.

Roy Williams kicked out a Presbyterian fan-a little different than psychotic Kentucky fans.

No place for profanity period. Somebody from Ky should have asked the ushers to remove the fans. Terrible reflection on Ky and their fans imo. A. You should be able to get your point across without profanity. B. No doubt there are other peoples families there besides Bruce's. I think most coaches tolerate good natured ribbing or abuse, very few accept or tolerate a couple of redneck a--holes cussing at their team and bench continuously.

Sounds like he made the right call.

Weak. Guarantee some of our fans will do the same when UK comes to town. Every fanbase has fans like that. Maybe he should've coached and shut them up with his team's play.

B. call.

U gotta be one of the fans that send texts at UT football games to get others in ur fanbase kicked out or in trouble. And I was understanding what u were saying til u used profanity.

Bruce looked like awful last night

I disagree. It's called home court advantage. You think that doesn't happen at TBO? Don't kid yourself.

guaranteed utter horseshat. Pearl doesn't give a crap if your herd of idiots boos or tells him to sit. When they begin saying redneck trash, he should absolutely ask to have them removed.

Very ironic that Pearl was upset at the language being used. Anyone ever hear him at practice?

I would worry more about the abortion he's putting out on the court. Who cares what a few toothless wonders are saying behind his back.

yeah, but that's practice and it's generally private. Most coaches have that streak. Few do it on the big stage. My guess is that the idiots were shouting crap altogether inappropriate for a public setting or going full on redneck. It's not like Pearl hasn't been shouted at unmercifully before.
