Pearl pulled a Roy Williams tonight

he was probably complaining about the Cope spittle staining his jacket. Stuff is hard to get out

The cop spoke to the two for 10 mins, but they settled down and were sworn not to BOO the coach or tell him to sit down.

Stop making things up. It was a group of idiots dropping f-bombs every other word. They deserved to have their butts kicked out.

During the game when a player came out (maybe Scotty? - subs were happening so fast I couldn't keep up), the TV camera showed a UK fan behind the bench using some choice language at the player as he took the bench. It was pretty classless, but it is UK, so not unexpected. Tony Jones turned around and talked to the guy who then started letting the expletives fly.

I would assume that some security was called for that situation.

I was not seated in this area but had a co-worker who was seated 10-12 rows up from the UT bench. This assessment is 100% correct. Every fanbase has idiots - we just seem to have more than our fair share.

I think what Pearl did with telling the cop is fine, but why the hell is the coaching staff talking back to fans??

Depends on what the fan said to a student athlete. I'm no lip reader, but I've seen enough four letter words mouthed to pick up on those. If it was inappropriate and despicable, I'd rather have a coach step in than have a player go Ron Artest on him.

And let's be honest, UK isn't known for having a sportsman-like fan base.

I happen to read lips and Jones told the guy to stop chucking his wood.

Jacqui was seated right behind Bruce and it's pathetic that the Kentucky fans would use expletives around women. Losers.

No place for profanity period. Somebody from Ky should have asked the ushers to remove the fans. Terrible reflection on Ky and their fans imo. A. You should be able to get your point across without profanity. B. No doubt there are other peoples families there besides Bruce's. I think most coaches tolerate good natured ribbing or abuse, very few accept or tolerate a couple of redneck a--holes cussing at their team and bench continuously.

Sounds like he made the right call.

No profanity was used, thats why they were allowed to stay. It was the usual "sit down" and "shut-up" yells. Bruce was the dumba$$ that took his fam to a rivalry game after a suspension for cheating. What do you expect?

Speaking of terrible reflection on fans....it was the UT fan base that cheered Ron Mercer years ago when he turned his ankle and rolled around in pain. Yes, TB arena cheered. That was nice.

so all coaches should expect their family to be verbally abused when visiting Rupp. Sounds like a classy place

Bruce's family is usually at every game. He never has to ask a cop to tell fans to settle down. It's untelling what the KY fans were saying.

A group of idiots dropping F bombs? LOLOLOL!!! This is a perfect example of how rumors get started. Perfect example. Wow, you sir are a one of kind. Do you make this stuff up while watching the game, or afterwards?

Were you at the game? I was. It wasnt a group, it was TWO. One was a kid, the other was an adult. No profanity was used what so ever. Thats why they were allowed to stay. UT's family were 10 seats away....and between them were old people that didnt move the entire game.

You really shouldnt lie or spread rumors when you dont know first hand. You wouldnt have known anything about it if you didnt read this board.

The family had no words sent in that direction. It was to Bruce. And if he cant take it, maybe he shouldnt take his family to an away game after a suspension.

BTW----If he thinks two whole people were bad at Rupp, wait till he goes to Gainesville and its the entire arena.

you guys really know how to promote Rupp huh? Are there signs outside that say "Not family friendly" or does one just have to experience it? I guess it could be assumed just by looking at the fans but a sign would be nice

No, I think its just common sense that typical razzing takes place when you play away games. You think the same doesnt happen when Cal goes to TB? Right.

One thing is for sure.....the UK fan base has NEVER cheered an opposing player getting hurt because he chose someone elses school.

I dont know how many away games you go to, but Gainesville, Athens and Columbia are 10 times more ruthless than Rupp. Wait till Bruce goes to Gainesville, you might want to mute your TV that game.

IE 95 is right, I saw the same thing during a time out. It was Scotty Hopson and at least one fan no more than two rows back was way out of line towards a player.

Just stop.

If telling yourself that the "group" of UK fans were yelling F bombs to Pearl makes you feel better, than go ahead. But I'm telling you no cuss/foul word was said. And again, it was a two people....and one was a kid. Good try, though.

First I don’t blame Bruce, Kentucky fans are way over the top. What do they have to look forward to if they lose in basketball? Kentucky Derby, the State Lottery,Kentucky Football (lol).
I think Cal misses Memphis but likes the money more, not the team, the money.
