+1......I love B.Pearl but if this is what he's going to try and do it's gonna make fans unhappy and it's gona get real old fast.

Pearl has no reason to leave , he is bringing in one of the top classes next year and this class just might be the class that gets Tn over the hump and with the returning players we have coming back Tn will have to be in the top 5 when the season starts next year.

I think Pearl would only leave us for a Big East job. Higher profile and more people of his faith.

Why does this subject even come up? Wait there is a High School coach that is getting fired maybe Bruce will go there.

How many coaches show up at their counterparts game shirtless and painted up? There's NO WAY Pearl leaves. He has a great thing going at UT. We are in the top 5 in attendance, where's Iowa ranked, number 5 in the Big 10 maybe.

I hope he does get a another raise... he's 1 of the top 5-10 coaches in America easy... and the no.1 coach for THIS job... I got no problem w/ Pearl getting a raise and another extension if it keeps him here longer. If we lose Pearl now ... fans might as well include basketball to go along w/ football in rebuilding mode. We'd fall... and fall fast w/o Pearl. I book it- despite what the brilliant armchair coaches that think we'd be undefeated if it weren't for a move Pearl made or didn't make here or there. ha What coach would actually come here and want to deal with that? We'd be bound to get the next Buzz Peterson or Wade Houston... and if we lost Pearl- we'd deserve it to!

meh, any coach gets fired and ESPN reports Pearl as the first candidate....got alot to do with the view that we're not a "basketball school" and as such, any good coach should just use us as a stepping stone

from what I can tell from everyone up at UT, that aspect has really not been a big deal / decider to him (he's actually too pretty active with the campus's small Jewish student group i think)
